I have to sell my nice 1987 300TD as I am moving from my house with 3 acres to a city lot with less than 1/3 acre. The car (and I) are currently in South Berwick, Maine about 65 miles from Boston. I'd like to get $5,800 or Best Offer.

Very smooth 6 Cylinder diesel engine.

Averages 30-32 MPG (but not driven in winter).

Automatic transmission, anti-lock brakes, air bag.

The car runs great, always starts up, has quick acceleration, handles well and does not smoke (except when starting in cold weather). It’s a pleasure to drive and hate to sell it but I am moving to a city with limited parking space. This is my daily driver from late spring until late fall. It has great visibility and versatility with the rear seats that fold down flat.

This is a not show car but runs well, is in good condition and will probably last another 200,000+ miles.

The car has minimal rust as it was originally from Pennsylvania and Virginia. During my 7 year ownership I garaged and stored it every winter. Dashboard and headliner in very good condition. Water does not leak into the car.
It has two floor storage compartments as it does not have the 3rd folding seat.

I have the maintenance records dating back to 2001.

A #17 cylinder head was installed at 204,281 miles.

Car always runs at about 90oC.

Used Mobil 1 (5W-40 or 15W-50), changed at 5,000 mile intervals.

4-wheel alignment performed in April 2013.

New muffler installed at 203,903 miles.

New front Bilstein struts installed at about 180,000 miles.

New catalytic converter installed at 181,000 miles.

Digital voltmeter installed.

Headlights converted to European type for a nice bright view of the road. The headlight wipers were removed when the headlights were converted. Has operating fog lights.

WORKING:

Cruise control, heating system, power sunroof in both modes, Becker AM/FM radio and cassette player, power seat and headrest adjustments, telescoping steering wheel, rear hatch pull down, power windows (except right rear), power door locks, all dashboard gauges, dashboard lights.

NOT WORKING:

Air conditioner, Power antenna (fixed in up position), clock,

NOT SO GOOD:

Slight oil leak somewhere, it leaves small drips.

Heating system fan squeaks.

Clearcoat has started peeling on hood and around rear window.

Area above left front tire is bent due to broken ball joint last year.

Some wear and dark spots on the carpet in the back cargo area.

Probably in an accident years ago with a previous owner as there’s a slight difference in paint color at a door forward.

Rear tires should be replaced. Front tires are good.

Driver seat has a tear a few inches long.

Parking brake needs adjustment.

Included is a spare set of all six fuel lines from the injector pump to the injector. A couple of spare Becker radios and spare climate control panels.

I've tried to describe this car as best I could but it should be inspected by a buyer and test driven. I don't have time to deal with the minor issues as I am in the process of moving with a deadline to get out of my house.
