On some they do this car has obiously had the lowering springs--and one of those gaudy zender dams.

minus that plastic air dam and those chinese looking clear side markers, that looks like a nice w123 coupe...personally, I like the Ronals; they're like the poor man's 15" bundt set.

As a side note; we're meeting our CPA on the 21st of this month...so I'll know what my next move is after that.

Thanks all for your patience!

Some new developments - met with the CPA today; our taxes weren't too bad, so don't owe quite as much as I initially feared. However, with the baby almost due I feel like I'm already losing interest in the coupe and have mentally moved on. I'd rather get a w116 300sd which will be driven even with the baby around, rather than the coupe which I will probably hardly drive.

As a side note, I renewed registration during this period, so I will need to tack that onto the final sales price - sorry, but I feel like even a price of $4,100 is very realistic. Alternatively, I will be willing to trade it for a comparable w116 300sd (consideration for cash on either side) if the list of 5 potential buyers decide to pass. As a side note, I couldn't find the pink slip, so I will be going to AAA next week to request a replacement title. That usually takes anywhere from 6-8 weeks so sale will not be concluded before that.

In short, I will be working down the list to finalize the sale. Final pick-up/delivery is flexible. PMs sent to all buyers. Thanks everyone for your interest!

Beautiful model, but unfortunately the gas models never had much love compared to the diesels. If I were to get a 123 chassis, it would have to be a 280. I don't think you'll have any difficulties finding a new owner for the car. Price is right if it does not have any real issues and mechanically sound. I wouldn't be surprised if this car one day ends up polished up on Mercedes Motoring at 3x the price. Good luck to all parties involved

Thanks for the input; the thought initially crossed my mind about contacting Mercedes Motoring since they're not far from me, or putting it on eBay...however, as I'm not in the business of buying/selling cars for profit I'm sort of indifferent (if that makes sense).

I bought this merely on a whim because I found it interesting and figure at least someone on the forum will appreciate it (and keep it around so I can buy it back when they eventually decide to sell it ). Although, since selling it is no longer a financial necessity like I thought it would be, I won't even mind if it stays; it just won't get driven much.

Some of the potential buyers appear to have moved on because of how long I've taken; I apologize, but know you understand b/c its never easy to let go of such a trophy...if anyone else is interested and held back please PM me.

If no one snaps this by month end I may keep it (with eventual plans to move it to flebay). Thanks!

Price back to $4k...someone please snap this and save me the trouble of listing it on eBay. This car is in excellent shape; if needed I can drop it off at a local mechanic shop (if out you're of state) for an inspection.

I'm considering selling my euro 280ce and want to see what interest there is within the community. It's a very nice example and runs smoothly so it would be awesome to keep it within the community. I got this as a spare car after selling my euro 300d last year. My wife is now expecting a baby girl (our first due in May) and I just don't see how often we will be driving this (it’s a forth car). Plus I’d rather free up some cash to do stuff around the house in preparation for the baby.

Since I got it the only thing I did was a change the oil (lubro moly) and put in a new thermostat. I have a brand new set of bosch plugs, wires, dist cap/rotor (bought these before I actually got the car). However, once I got the car I did not change these as the plugs are in very good shape as are the wires/cap & rotor. The car also came with some misc. parts (new valve cover gasket, some random radiator hoses & belt). Car has an alpine head unit with an amp in the trunk. I’ll include the w123 CD if the prospective buyer doesn’t have it. Unfortunately I don’t have any real service records, except for what’s stamped in the MB service book.

What the car needs: A/C charge and seems like the viscous fan clutch is a bit lazy on low RPMs when crawling up steep grades. However it has never overheated (temp stays between 80* and 100*). I have driven the car about 1000 miles and have not found anything else that needs attention. The car drove excellently on 400mi drive back last year and the trans shifts very well and clutch has excellent feedback. Brakes are good and overall suspension/steering is one of the tightest I’ve come across in a w123. Car has no rust and seems like it is the original paint. There are some minor chips around the car, slight dash cracking and some paint flaking by the drivers rear quarter – not sure if this may have been touched up.

I don’t have any new pics of the car; but this is what it looked like when I bought it.

I’m looking for $4k which is what I’m in it for. If someone’s interested, I’ve got a set of period 15x7 Ronal Penta wheels; but these are currently on my SDL so I’d need to find a set of the 15-holes before I can remove them. I did a test fit last year and the car looked awesome with the Ronal Pentas.
Thanks!
Roop, please mark this sale pending as i have comitted to buy this car with the Ronal Pentas included.

thank you,

Paul

To repeat myself:

I will NOT finalize the sale until I have the title in hand, which I do not. If you read through my PP comments, I have said the same thing. That is also the reason money WILL NOT change hands until I have received title. Once again: I will not make any sale final until I have title in hand.

Thanks.

Sale cancelled. Seems we cannot agree on important terms on how to conclude the sale.

I will be keeping and restoring this car. Thank you all for your interest.

Regards,

Roop Chase
