Awesome to see it went to a forum member with some W123 experience behind his belt.
This was an amazing find in regards to the OP.
You just don't find a buy like this anymore. Good luck with selling the rest of 'em.

I really HAVE to come down South to buy a Diesel. Northern cars suck with this rust.

Buy the red one. I would if I had the room. Affordable, good quality, 240D's are getting harder to find. I'm going to keep this car forever.

Did you pick the car up yet, Don? I've been looking for a thread.

I wanted the Red one so bad. I get so angry when I know I can't buy it. I'd go overboard on restoring it mechanically and can't even afford it now with an SL65 on my list ATM.

Going to get it this Saturday. Expect a thread of the cars restoration to follow. I plan on bringing it back to life and make it as nice as possible. Probably not concourse but close

Nice to meet you Christopher! The brown 240 is at its new home.
The red car is still available as is the silver 300D. $1500 for the red car, the silver 300D, $2000. I'll consider close offers too!

The red car has been sold.
So now I have the 300D and the 300SD left. I would like to get $1500 for the 300D and at least $2500 for the 300SD. Close offers entertained.
I really would like to get these to new homes so I can focus on my VWs!
I have signed titles for both cars and can get them transfered into my name. I have not done so as of yet because of the cost incurred. Georgia now charges a 6.75% fee of the NADA value of the car in order to register them. Crazy because the '83 300D is valued at "low retail" $5150 and "avg retail" at $8450!!
The 300SD is "low retail" $6150 and "avg retrail" at $10,150!
You are able to dispute the NADA value and have an appraiser come out to judge the value and negotiate the current condition/value. Just a big hassle really.
With that being said, if a potential buyer would like to have me get the title in my name then they would have to assume that cost above our agreed upon sales price and have to wait for the title transfer to be completed.
If a buyer can use the title just being signed by me in order for them to register the vehicle and get the title in their name then that would be fine.
Thanks,
Dave 229-834-5080
