Project cars, 240d (2) and a 300D

I have several project cars that I would like to get rid of. I found these while doing a VW deal. I really would hate to part them because they are complete cars and I think would run and drive without too much work. I will be getting interior and engine pics this weekend.
The pics show them after I scrubbed them down and therefore they are shinier than what the are dry. There are several pics of them prior to the baths in the listed photobucket album. They would polish up decently. Maroon car looks to have been resprayed and has some evidence of bodywork on passenger rear quarter.
I'm going to list them as complete cars for a few weeks to see if anyone wants them whole. I am currently working with Mercedes of Albany, GA to get keys for them. Previous owner kept his keys in a coffee can and can't find them.
Extensive pics will be posted the first of next week, if not sooner.
Any of the cars for $1500 or all three for $4000.
Bill of Sale only for the brown and Maroon cars. Title should be available for the silver 300D soon.
Thanks, Dave
Brown (?) car. Build date 6/78, 233,703 miles

Interior of above car....

Maroon car...standard trans. Yep, it was in a barn.
Build date 11/81, 238,703 miles. Exactly 5,000 more than the brown car! Thought that was kind of cool.

Silver 300D, auto trans. Build date 2/83, 217,xxx miles I think. I'll have to double check.

Album with a few more pics.

This is where the other pictures will be posted this weekend, so just check back. That way we don't add to the posts here.
All cars are located in Hahira, GA. About 30 miles north of the FL border on Interstate 75.
Email is fine, PM and I'll send you my cell #.
Added new pics today. Sub albums for red, brown and silver cars in the above limk.

Per my discussion with Dave, I am currently trying to buy a truck that became available shortly after I sent messages to Dave. So, Dave's vehicles are still available to anyone interested.

Dave- Thanks for offering these whole first rather than parting out. The brown and maroon 240Ds sure cleaned up NICE! Even from Oregon these look damn tempting!!!

Dave is a new member here, but for what it's worth I've "known" him on TheSamba for years (aircooled Volkswagen) and he's a good guy- straight shooter.

Are the cars that are "bill of sale only" that way because a title isn't required in Ga. for older cars? What's the scoop on this?

Good to have a character reference .

IIRC, Georgia doesn't require titles on older vehicles. New Hampshire and Rhode Island are also that way -- if you bring one of those cars to Massachusetts, you just bring a bill of sale and the last registration to the registry and it goes just like a titled car.

Thanks for the kind words Tram. I appreciate you vouching for me.
Those 2 did scrub up nice but are in need of a good buffing/wax job. Not perfect but would be good 20 footers!
Yep, bill of sales on cars older than 25. I can get current registrations for them for about $100 each. I just have to show that I have ins. on them and buy the tag. Unfortunately that means getting a policy on a car and then cancelling it as soon as it's sold. My old ins. agent used to write me a binder for 30 days and not have to worry with all the other paperwork and the little bit of cash for starting a policy. I get most of it back when policy is cancelled, but a small hassle that is generally worth it to help get a car registered in another state.

Oh and Tram, the '73 Wesffalia bus is cleaning up nicely too!

I am interested in seeing more pictures of the 2 240D's... Can you send via e-mail to me? Primarily interested in rust trouble areas (trunk, fenders, rocker panels, rear window frames.

Email is sent to you via pm.

Thanks...

Cars look great, wish I had $4000 and 3 spots in the driveway for these. Wouldn't be too bad of a drive. My dad's 240D could serve as a nice parts car for these.
My brother's 300SD and my 190D are plenty to handle.
Good luck on the sale, hope these are not parted out.

Got the brown car to turn over but it sounds like a compression leak somewhere. Glow plugs were warm to touch but I'm thinking head gasket?
Anyway, I'm really not inclined to part them so I'm thinking $1000 each now or $2800 for the three of them.
Someone buy these so I can get back to my VWs! : )

Here is a link to photos of the cars in seperate albums. There is also the 300sd that is running, driving, stopping now! That car is for sale for $2800 OBO now, but needs fluids and filters and fuel lines changed and tires before it daily drives.
If I do that I'm going to ask $3400.

Brown car has been SOLD! Thanks Joe!
$1500 each for the 240d and 300d or $2500 for both.
300sd still available, $2500. Running, driving, stopping.
Needs to have fluids, filters, fuel lines and tires before driving any distance.
After i do all of that it'll be $3000.
