Pretty sure the post 95 Mercedes diesels had lots of electrical issues and a number of other issues. I have never been a big fan of the headlights on the next gen models. The 95 is a non turbo 6 cylinder that has plenty of pep for daily driving, lots of the issues have been ironed out on the w124 at this point. Seems like a good daily driver

Whats your location? My wife's 95 E300 is up for sale right now. Silver, Special Edition with 268k on it.

We're parting with it because our third child (due June 2nd) needs a place to sit (three car seats in the back doesn't really work).

I appreciate the offer, but it has more mileage than I am looking for.

Thank you and good luck with your sale.

Now that's worth a trip to Philly. Although it's 'local' you just never know the back story. Weren't the early ones prone to overheating and potentially warping the head? Still, it's a beauty.

That was the OM603. This is the OM606. Apple to oranges for you to try to compare the two.

1992 thru 1996 were victims of Bio-Degradable wiring harness. That included Diesels also.

One word, POS; 'rust,' in the Northeast...

Also, too much $. There was a local, for sale by one-owner 95 E300 here in pristine condition for as I recall, less than $5K last year here in DFW. Had well under 100K miles too. The (2) on this thread are way too much money.

Don't be so cock sure it's a "rot" bucket. I could see the difference if you lived in the North to experience it and see it.

Anyway it looks like it's been rear-ended the Diesel and E300 emblem including the vin sticker on the deck lid is also misplaced.

It's a $1500.00 car with that paint in squalor condition as is any W124.

If you find one in Houston you're serious about, I'll go look at it for you. Daily check CL.

Clean one in Atlanta

Colin,

Here's a clean looking '95 in Atlanta. Has low miles and price is decently reasonable. Has even had the wiring harness taken care of (so he says). I'd consider this one myself to replace the '92 but I'm striking a deal on an '05 CDI this week so must pass

1995 Mercedes E300 Diesel 129k miles

P.S. If you're interested and wish to pursue it I have autocheck reports available for the next 20 days or so from when I used it on the CDI I'm getting. I can run the VIN for you and e-mail it to you. Just PM me.

Thanks, Brian, but I'm not interested in buying one. I just watch the market on 'em as you do. However, I'm not above flipping one if it's just too attractive and low priced. Likewise, if you see one in DFW that you're serious about, I can go check it out for you.

They're great cars, ('95 E 300Ds) and it looks like they're making a rebound in price in some parts of the Country, going from the ads and their asking prices. I would have jumped on the local, one-owner $5K, sub-100K '95 E300D in Frisco, TX instantly if I had wanted one. It was gone inside (4) days from CL.

This one looks like a honey of a Southern (no-rust), priced right '95 E300D. Good miles, too!

...and that interior color is to die for. I love it.

I'll combine two stereotypical things and say I wish it were closer AND I wish I had the money...

One of these days the sellers around here that are wise to that line of "wish it were closer" BS by offering FS the landed/FOB price to your driveway.....
