1984 300D For Sale in GA
I am looking to sell my light blue/navy interior 1983 300D that my grandparents ordered new in Stuttgart from the factory. They took delivery, drove it around Germany for 6 weeks and then shipped it to Savannah, Georgia. The car has always been in our family since new. It currently has 122,000 original miles. Every service for the first ten years was done by Mercedes in Athens, GA. I have owned/maintained the car for the past 12 years. It has new motor mounts and engine shocks, new glow plugs, new oil cooler lines, new flex disc, new tranny cooler lines, new carrier bearing, new CV shafts, new fuel tank and all new rubber fuel lines, all new Mercedes door seals, new window weather stripping, new hood pad, new Monarch injectors, new Mercedes Vacuum pump, all door locks/trunk lock/fuel door lock work properly. I have replaced all the door strikers, brake calipers, master cylinder, brake booster, rotors, and all new rubber brake lines. The original spare rim, road triangle, and first aid kit are all in place. It has BFGoodrich tires that have approximately 50% tread remaining. The car has little to no rust. I have cleaned and painted the fender drains and all of them are in good condition. The paint is in fair condition. The clear coat is very thin and gone in few places. All of the sheet metal is original except for the passenger side front fender which was replaced after hitting a deer in the early nineties. That fender now has a small golf ball size dent where I dropped my impact gun by accident. The car has little to no rust. The interior is almost immaculate. The dash only has two or three cracks that are all less than one inch long. The glove box door needs to be fixed. It is bowed and the trim is coming off. The radio antenna does not work and the AC is not working. I have put an new electric fan and condenser in anticipation of fixing the AC this summer but plans have changed. I recently moved from Tennessee and no longer have the time to work on the car with my new job and family situation. The car has a clean Georgia title in my name. Please text or email me and I will be glad to email anyone interested pictures of everything. I am asking $3500.00, and I would love to see it go to someone that will continue driving it for 20 more years. Please email or text me your email address and I will be happy to email any interested person all of the pics I have taken. Probably 30 or so to show the whole car. Thanks for reading!

How funny, I had a European Delivery 1984 300D bought from Athen's motors in Georgia also. Is that Diamond Blue metallic? Before it faded?

Is that a crack free dash or does it have a cap?

It is almost a crack free dash. There are two cracks that are roughly an inch long, and very narrow, near the defrost air ducts. The car moved to Nashville with me from 2008 until 2013 when I was able to move back to GA. I actually paid for it stay in a storage unit for a year and drove it twice a week until I had room in the garage at home. That is pretty dang interesting that you have such a similar car from Athens Motors! We are probably in the same boat as far as paint goes.

Sorry, I just read the previous post a little closer. Yes, the color is (was before fading) diamond blue metallic.

Well now... Just to get out of the house it might be a good thing to visit Locust Grove to see the car. Only a short drive from where we are.. also south of ATL.
Will email you if we can get away and see when you are available. |

Sounds good Dave! It may not be around after tomorrow. The price drop motivated an individual to come look closer. If I still have it you are more than welcome to stop by.
