WOW, I am very impressed with the condition of this car, you should be commended for doing such a good job of maintaining this car, absolutely no rust is visible, I would be ashamed to show you what my 1991 300SE looks like

The 300SD is now torn apart, the engine trans are out and we are finishing up pulling any remaining decent parts then it goes to the crusher, it will never drive again. (extremely rusty and I sawed off the whole front to take the engine out quick )

Engine is still for sale, it ran great and I even have a video of it running about 2 hours before we pulled it.

The car sat in the dirt for over 2.5 years and the brakes rusted solid, and yet it was still able to start and move itself (after full throttle to break loose the rotors) about 150 feet to where we parted it.

There is no 300D for sale here.

There are two 617 engines available, one with transmission.

One complete 420SEL is available, needs engine work but can drive home fine.

I also have a complete 1982 300SD for sale in another thread, rusty, but runs great and can also drive home fine.

Sorry, I wasa pretty tired when I looked at this thread the first time - somehow I missed the small detail about the car being parted out. So I will continue looking around for a fully operational 85-95 Diesel

The 420 is no longer for sale, we decided to use it for parts for our other ones.

I DO still have a 1982 300SD running driving parts car for sale, as well as two complete 617 engines, one has a good transmission with it.

too bad, as your timing chain prob on that car was less of a prob than my valve ticking noise(although car runs great and smooth). thanks for replying back

Valve ticking is probably just a lifter.

Our engine needs all guides, the chain, lifters, and valve stem seals re-done....way too much work to put into an engine with 312k on it...it still runs fine too, but its not trustworthy in this state.
