Herd Liquidation Sale

I used to be a regular on this forum but things change and I basically lost interest in keeping a fleet of 30+ year old cars on the road. This listing is for the last of the herd; parts cars and a beater SDL.

Bring a trailer, cash and make out like a bandit. They must go somewhere...if not your place then to the crusher because they can't stay here.

Here is between Rockdale and Hearne, TX...about 70 miles from Austin, 45 miles from College Station, 120 miles from Houston.

If you're interested, contact me here: rleo at berryhillfarm dot us

Here it is in brief (caveat- I'm not trying to hide anything; remember these cars have been stored for several years and there may be more issues than what I have listed here).

1987 300SDL - I was using this one as a daily driver until I bashed the oil pan on a rock in my driveway. Engine survived because I check my gauges frequently...this car has had a salvage title since about 1990 and looks like crap but has fair tires, <10000 mi on fully rebuilt front end, a rebuilt turbocharger, plus new a/c compressor, evaporator, condenser and txv but I never could get the a/c going right. Also has a nice stereo, not a Becker but OK for a cheap car. Will need some TLC to get back on the road but is a fun car that gets 25mpg (gray car in the attachments). $500 OBO

1985 240D Euro - not a runner...rough appearance, rust, head gasket leaks, some parts have been robbed from it. 4-speed manual but needs a drive shaft (green car in the attachments). $250

198x 240D Euro - 4-speed manual, engine sounds good but I've never driven it...bought this one to replace the above's engine (white car in the attachments). $250

1985 300TD - parts car only, bad rust, many parts missing, engine ran but apparently had jumped time. Good news is that the rear swing arm bushings probably have <20k miles on them (gold car). $250

1975 240D - 4-speed manual, manual windows, not running, probably a broken camshaft (orange...actually English Red). $250

Also...

There's parts, filters, rubber do-dads, motor mounts, used manual transmission for 616-617 (needs work), various used SLS components, bundt wheels, yada yada and a Klann knock-off spring compressor. When you come for the cars, bring extra money for the parts and I'll sell the whole batch to you for cheap, cheap, cheap.

Aww geez... I don't know how feasible it is but I might POSSIBLY just POSSIBLY interested in bring that 75 240D back to life. I have NEVER owned that body style. I have a picture of myself next to an English Red 240D so it brings back memories. Only $250.00 but bringing it to the east coast is my issue.

Did you drive it before the engine issues? How does the trans work.

The 115 would be a good candidate for restoration and is definitely my favorite of these. It was a daily driver for many years until the engine locked up while idling in traffic one day. I never pulled it apart to see what was wrong but I suspect that the timing chain tensioner failed, the engine jumped time and there was a valve/piston collision.

At the time it broke, the engine was making an intermittent noise that I interpreted as injector nailing. I'd swapped out the injectors with a set from another 115 that I had at the time to try and determine if the injectors were, in fact, nailing. Apparently, I was wrong.

It has the usual W115 rust and interior issues. A/C was a colderthanhell R-12 unit and the tranny shifted OK provided you didn't rush the 1-2 shift. I have a box of 115 parts that should go with the car.

Now I don't recognize that as contemporary lingo or Mercedes jargon, per se, but given as it sounds it could be an issue with your coolant system, the quick and easy fix would be replacing the thermostat. Seen many a folk get away with a dandy like that. Especially want to have it handled before you go tearin' off across the desert in the summertime. Oh, sweet sweet summertime...
