FS: 2002 C32 AMG, Columbus, Ohio - well maintaned car

Looking to possibly sell my 2002 Mercedes Benz C32 AMG
Silver with black leather, merlot seat inserts.

The car has just under 120,000 miles as of this post.
This weekend, I will be getting a set of new tires installed and having it aligned.

I purchased this car from an acquaintance in early 2013, when it had 105,000 miles on it. He was the second owner of the car and had it dealer maintained. I have all service records. At around 90,000 miles, the transmission was replaced by the MB dealer with a Mercedes replacement transmission. At 100,000 miles, the supercharger was rebuilt. I bought this car because I wanted something that was well-maintained, and it has definitely been reliable for me.

When I purchased the car, I learned that it still had the original Valeo radiator, which is known for causing problems intermixing transmission fluid and coolant. I replaced it with a new Behr unit as preventative maintenance.

The heated seats do not work; I haven’t looked into why but hear it is a common problem. Additionally, the CD changer is flaky. Other than that, everything works.

The body is in good condition, it has some very minor W203 rust that should probably be mitigated soon so it doesn’t spread. No perforation or anything crazy. There's a decent size ding next to the passenger headlight. The driver side fender was repainted and I believe the front bumper was replaced after a fender bender some years back.

The car is an absolute blast to drive, gets tolerable fuel economy (19-20 city, 22-24 hwy), and is affordable to insure. I do not have to sell it, but within the past months, my company moved my office to about three miles from my home, effectively eliminating my driving commute. I just don’t drive the car that often anymore and hate to see it sit around unused.

Located in Grandview Heights, OH, which is five minutes from downtown Columbus.

Clean Ohio title in hand, no lien, no brands, etc.

$8,000. Potentially open to trades, let me know what you have.

Took some pics this morning. Also, forgot to mention that I put new pads & rotors on about 5,000 miles ago and the rotors still show the crosshatch.

Can only imagine why tires wear on this vehicle... I tested one here outside DC but the miles were so low that actually bothered me. Prefer my Benzes "driven hard and well maintained". What tires are on it now and what brand are you thinking about getting?

I know the feeling. I looked at a 30+ year old BMW bike the other day with just over 2,000 miles on it. Yes, that's three zeros, not four or five. The guy selling it seemed to think that was a good thing! I ran away pretty quickly, every part on that bike needed rebuilt from sitting.

90% of the services done on this car were done at the dealer. A few were done by a local indy. A few were done by me (radiator, trans fluid replacement, one oil change, and brakes)

It has Continental ExtremeContact DWS on it now, and they're on the wear bars. I can't decide what to get and that's why it still has the worn Contis on it... I was thinking of BFGoodrich GForces or perhaps some Bridgestone PP04's. I don't need any winter capability, planning to store the car this winter if it doesn't sell. So I'm undecided, unless a buyer comes forward and wants to decide themselves.

Always been a fan of so-called value tires so long as the specs hold up. Big names = big marketing expenses = passed on in prices. I'm kind of a Kumho fan myself. 3-4 sets on different vehicles...

Of course if I come buy it the decision is all mine, right?

I don't disagree... I have Kumhos on a few cars and normally subscribe to the "if they're rubber and round" theory, but then again most cars don't handle like this one.

If you buy it, the choice is certainly yours!

Bump in anticipation of tax refund season. Miles are about the same, maybe 500 more than the photos show. Price drop to $7,600.

I've driven this car multiple times and it performs incredibly well and does everything it should, smooth and quiet at every speed. Pulls hard and shifts well.

It is a lot faster than you think it is.

Someone buy this and fund Upshift's various other projects.

I wish our W203 wagon had that engine in it. I sadly need a bigger vehicle than that (multiple kids seats need to fit) but it sure looks like a fun machine!
