1979 300sd, los angeles
I'm a little embarrassed this is my first post but I've been on this site a lot lately to fix the little things with this car but mostly to scratch a new itch. A 300td w123 which is why I need to sell my current Mercedes and my other beater truck.
This car has been my daily driver for many years but now that we have another child I'm switching to a bigger car. The only things not working are AC and cruise control, which I've never missed but I'm sure can be brought back to life. The drivetrain has been solid. The Previous owner stated the engine was rebuilt at 180,00 and transmission at 208,000 but I only have week documentation to back that up. I've kept most of my service records since purchasing the car. i've done a fair amount of little things to this car but my favorite was replacing the original acc servo with a rebuilt aluminum one. Recently repainted but it seems the clear coat is failing in some areas (see the worst pic). body is super straight as far as i can see and absent of rust. interior is very nice except the front seats which are cracked with a couple rips. back seat leather is nice but seat needs restuffing. carpets are super clean and it appears the aftermarket covers have been protecting the original its whole life. overall a very nice car that drives great and one of my favorite body styles for vintage Mercedes. PM with any questions or concerns asking $3850 |

Motor and trans rebuilt docs are pretty black and white. You either have them or you dont. No docs would indicate no rebuild. Maybe check with the shops that were supposed to have done them for docs ?

I bought the car from a friend of the grandson who inherited the car and he didn't know anything about the history. In the glove box was a little note book with service history and every fill up including the mileage he was getting. The notations stopped around 250,000. Thats what I was calling weak docs but your right to a potential buyer that means nothing. The car checked out so I bought it and drove it for 5 years. I couldn't imagine someone going to the trouble to forge that little notebook so I believe it's accurate and on par with it's condition at the time. |

Figured I'd give this a bump. I've been driving it to work at least once a week and am constantly impressed with how well it drives. My firm price is 3000$ which I think is fair. Happy to answer any questions.
