1977 240D 4 speed manual TRADE for Auto

Willing to considering any reasonable trade for my 1977 240D. The car is in beautiful shape, and drives fine (even in -10º*weather), but my wife has trouble driving it with the manual transmission.

Everything is original (except the Sony tape deck) It has 187k miles, was repainted/resealed in 2010, and recently had a lot of upkeep work done at Chicago's best auto garage for old Imports (Midwest Performance Auto on Lake). 2 month old new front tires. Tan MBTex interior. Recently replaced the voltage regulator to fix a battery charging issue.

It has some minor rusting in the usual spot, both front wheel wells.

Ideally I would trade it for a 240D in similar shape, but with an automatic trans.

I have a 1981 240D Automatic. I've actually been looking for a manual.

The current issue with mine is I noticed a few months ago I had a brake drag. It's the left rear wheel, so it's either a collapsed brake hose, or a stuck caliper. But, it's been too cold to get out there an deal with it. Plus, with many other Benz's to just get in and go with, it wasn't a must-do situation given the season.

Below is a pic of it from the front. Cold AC, Hot heat, and overall decent shape. I think the odo reads in the 140's but stopped.

If your car is in better shape than mine, I'd be ok with paying a bit extra to get a manual.

I'll keep your info, when I get the brake issue remedied, I'll touch base to see if you still have the car. I'd be willing to meet somewhere halfway also to swap vehicles and paperwork.

Does your A/C work?

On a trip a few years back when we took it to 10 theme parks in 2 weeks. At just 100 degrees near Charlotte NC. Does pretty well. Obviously, this is travelling at 55+MPH on I-77. In traffic, or idling, not this cold, ha.

@jsume:
Sounds good about the car. I'd be interested in once you get the brakes all sorted out.
As far as I now the AC works, but I need to get it recharged to find out for sure. The heat works great, and the blowers come on when I turn the dial. It's been too cold in Chicago to even consider AC. Once the weather starts heating up I'm going to take it in to get recharged and I can let you know for sure once that happens. It's snowing today so that likely won't happen for a few weeks (fingers crossed)

Good looking 240D you have there. Have you ever driven a 240D with the automatic before? Only reason I ask is I recently converted mine to a manual and its a much more enjoyable car now. I still have all the parts from my swap and aside from the transmission needing a rebuild everything is in good shape.
