craigslist always has any number of MB beaters listed. All of them are going to be in need of repairs though. Just grab one locally that fits your criteria, or do a cl national search for one to ship to your address.

No. Smart keys were introduced on a model by model basis. There we no set year that they switched to them across the board.

R129 never had them, W140 never had them, W210 & W202 got them in 1998 when they switched from straight 6 to V6.
