I have the same vehicle but slower, less work since its an automatic, just use the pedal as an on/off switch

I am running 72HP with a 2.85 gasser differential and auto transmission. 0-60 is about 20 seconds if I floor it flat out However, hard to argue with 30mpg city and almost 35 on the freeway....

I have a 59hp W123 200D - it is plenty fast enough - the problem is that the differential in the car is matched to give it decent acceleration capability, so when you're cruising down the highway at 65+mph, the RPM's are quite high!! Personally I'd rather sacrifice a little acceleration capability and swap in a 240D differential which should increase the fuel economy, but I never did get that done.

Mine sprung an oil leak and now some camshaft journals need replaced and possibly more, so it's just been parked, but was a really fun car while it was on the road. What I didn't like about it was that it got no better fuel economy than a 300D turbo.

This is a cool car and I hope it found an appreciative new owner!

That's because when you have 59hp the engine is always at 100% to accomplish anything, where the 617 turbo has 2x the available power, so its able to cruise along around 40-60% usage in the same situation....so similar fuel consumption.

He told me he would use the car for his business and liked the fact he can put ladders on it. Turns out he just lied to get the car cheaper I think.

Here it is when I owned it. The enigne needed a overhault. To say that it is running strong is a lie. Due to the lack of power it was reved alot and so the valves were clanking like crazy. I sold it for 1500 as is. Its funny that he came here to resell it for so much more haha.
