I honestly would've been a serious buyer if it was any other color. I really hate that color. Very nice car though. GLWS

Very cool car. I have an 86 5 speed transmission in my 91 300TE and its a fantastic driving car. Any idea if the cam was changed in yours? I know the early cars had an issue with the cams being soft. I also think your production figures are a bit off. I think there were around 800 5 speed cars in the US market for 86. Either way its a VERY rare car but rare doesn't always equal the high dollar price I bet you are expecting. For reference here is another 86 5 speed that didn't sell at 4900. It has less than 100k and looks fantastic. Not trying to burst your bubble but you also need to be realistic with what you are expecting. I ended up parting out my 87 300E which also had a 5 speed when I couldn't sell it for more than $1000. The market for any W124 thats not an E500E is about rock bottom right now. GLWS!

You may be right gatorblue92.

Engine is original, never opened, with no issues. Cams have not been changed.

And true, this car on paper has no value. It's value lies in knowing what the car is and is not. Anyone who has had one in good shape will know that the manual tranny'd models have a totally different character compared to its auto siblings.

And no, I don't expect high dollars. But I'm not selling it for nothing either.

This is the truth. My 300TE went from a boring wagon to a exceedingly fun car to drive when I completed my 5 speed swap. The 5th gear really gives the M103 legs and mid 20's highway MPG.

High mileage 300E

I have to agree with the seller's perception of mileage on this one. I purchased my 300E 5spd with 300,000 miles on it and I've owned it for 19 years. For 16 of those years it was my daily driver. I'm just now having the motor rebuilt but this was my fault. When I got a new vehicle I garaged the 300E with the intent to use it as a weekender. Unfortunately I let it sit to long and now a rebuild is required. Dumb a** me!

Was that car originally from Arizona? My grandpa bought one exactly like that. He preferred 5 speeds
