This car belonged to my Aunt who had it looked after by a local independent shop in the Fort Lee area of NJ since it was new. I imported it, along with several other vehicles at that time, and had the various engine emissions and DOT changes made by an outfit in White Plains, NY in 1984. My Aunt passed away almost two years ago and the car was given to me. I don't have any real opportunity to drive the car any longer and it is sitting, likely deteriorating, and that is a shame because it is in remarkable condition.

I am including several photos that focus on the relatively minor rust. Overall, as noted the paint is excellent, it has a cloth interior with nearly new seat covers (I installed them after having them purchased in Germany from MB by an old friend and having them shipped over). There is rust on the rocker panels, shown in the photos, that afflicts the jacking points, and at one front fender where it meets the rocker panel, and one rear fender where it meets the rocker pane. There is nothing any where else that I am aware of (or I would have photographed the rust and shown it). The car was washed several weeks ago and gets rinsed off when debris from the trees falls on it, so the photos are not "its best" or "its worst" but fairly representative how it looks every day.

The engine starts and runs great, it gets poor mileage by today's standards (low 20 miles per gallon), the suspension has a few creaks and groans, but most everything should be in working order.

It has an after market A/C system that likely needs a charge to get up to snuff, it has a manual sunroof, manual seat adjustments, electric front windows and an automatic transmission.

The exterior color is metallic green - kind of the olive color of the day, and the interior is the MB tan of the day. Like I said the interior is in excellent condition - the dash has no cracks or other signs of distress.

If anyone is interested, let me know I can make arrangements for a test drive. The car is located in Southeastern Connecticut along the shoreline. While it spent all of its life in a garage, there is no garage here and that is another reason to try to find it a new home.

I am also looking to sell my 1983 240D in my signature. It has been sitting for too long and the floor flooded the last few years because the rear window seal has failed. I have been living in Colorado and the car has been sitting in Connecticut. So the floors are rotted out on the driver's side, along with the fuel and brake lines. So, that unit is for sale "as-is" for the best offer. The engine and transmission are great, and it actually had new front brakes installed three years ago (rotors, calipers, pads, front wheel bearings, etc.).
