Looks to be in great shape.

I love the seats in the older Citroens, Peugeots and Renaults. Some of the most comfortable seats IMO. Feels like your living room couch on wheels.

Reminds me of my first business trip to Africa, in a 504 taxi. When I remarked we had kjust flown through a stop sign he very politely replied (in English), "Oh, sir, in this country stop signs are merely a suggestion".

I owned a 505 wagon with gas motor for a few months back about 20 years ago. Lovely driving car even with a lot of miles on it but getting parts was a nightmare! I test drove a sedan with diesel once about 25 years ago. Again, nice driving car but backed away from it on the basis of lacking the ruggedness of a benz.

very different story getting parts for any car 20 years ago compared to today. most of the world has a different opinion about the ruggedness of the peugeot

He's lucky he could get away with him unlike now in contemporary Nigeria, most states got task force teams specifically for traffic violations. It's unlawful residents like him that keep downplaying our development.

My first car ever was a 505 in 1997. My dad passed it unto me cos I was working for him at the time and just finished high school. This beauty sure brings back memories.

I have to second that comment on the durability of these cars. The 403, 404 and 504 were used widely in Africa because they were one of the few vehicles, along with Mercedes, some old British cars, and Land Rovers, whose suspensions could sustain the road conditions and could be worked on easily by semi-qualified mechanics.

The kicker was that no one did seats like Peugeot back then. NO ONE. The first time I sat in a 504 I was astounded. That contributed to their success in third world countries... you could navigate goat paths and get out of the car without your body reminding you of every crater on the road.

The later 505 was okay and had a serious and fanatical following in the USA, but subsequent Peugeots are nothing special.

Hogweed, I am very interested in this car but can't do it immediately. Sending you a PM.
