FS in Albuq. NM 1985 BMW 745i Turbo 5 speed manual
I bought this car in 1999 and had it shipped from Texas to Pa.
I then drove it to New Mexico (where I was living at the time) and it has been there ever since. No rust at all. The original auto trans developed a problem 'hunting' between the top 2 gears. It didn't disable the car but made it very annoying to drive, especially at highway speeds. I decided to have a 5 speed manual installed in it instead of fixing the auto. When I first bought it it was quick but when it came back home from the shop in 2003 I could not believe how ridiculously fast this car was!! When I left for grad school in 2004 I had planned to return to NM the following summer to get the car and tow it home w/ my Suburban, which i also, unfortunately, left in Albuquerque......unfortunately. At Christmas I got a call from my buddy asking where the Suburban was. I thought he was kidding but, unfortunately, it turned out someone stole the truck which was filled with my tools, unfortunately, and most of the spare parts for the BMW.......you guessed it: unfortunately. After that I sort of lost interest in the project and left it there. I doubt whether I put 500 miles on it since the conversion. Car now has 113,829 original miles The car runs and drives, and the interior (buffalo hides) is still pretty good, but needs some work to get it back into top condition. I have a few more pics and can get others upon request. Like to get $6500 for it and would listen to offers and trades
