300td for sale soon in central-eastern Canada
I am getting ready to sell my 1980 300td w123 wagon, non-turbo. Why am I posting a 'getting ready to sell' ad? Cause I am way behind schedule... life is like that.
Here is the story; The car was trucked by me up from Texas and has been in Canada going on 5 years. A w123 wagon in this condition is absolutely unique in this area. You will not find a bodyshell this solid anywhere in Canada. PERIOD. Even on our west coast or in our midwest (prairies). To illustrate: It still has the factory front exhaust pipe installed. The good: - never driven in Canadian winter. - underside is about a pristine as you will find anywhere, now. - non-turbo motor makes very good power, not a slug at all. - looks really good from 15 feet , gets comments everywhere I go. - huge work done on interior, most of it forward of second seat replaced (had serious damage from sitting parked in Texas sun). Lots done in last 1,000 or so miles: - upgraded to H4 headlamps. - installed less faded amber foglights. - new radiator, radiator hoses. - new climate control servo (upgraded to aluminum body from Perf Analysis), reconditioned climate control amplifier. - door panels, front seats, carpet mats and side carpets all changed. - new upper control arms and lower ball joints, new alignment. - new brake pads (x4) and new rotors (rear). - rebuilt SLS leveling valve installed. - SLS system works perfectly, no leaks and retains height when car parked for a week. - set of reconditioned/balanced injectors (from Greazzer) installed. - valves adjusted. The not-so-good: - dings and bruises on the body were not taken care of in timely fashion by the idiot owner (me). Has a lot of warts. - needs windshield and windshield seal (which I will install or credit back on price). - dash is cracked, but have a fabric dash mat over it (have replacement dash). - rear cargo door struts iffy (have good used replacements). - no odometer or trim meter (have good used replacement). The car is currently at a shop having the climate control put right after the idiot owner (TM) messed it up while troubleshooting a problem. (Honestly I usually have a better track record than this.) I am going to be asking $6k (note: that's Cdn $, about $4600 USD) when the climate control is sorted, and will install a new windshield and seal. The car shows 164k (miles) but I would wager the true mileage is around 250k, possibly more. The replacement speedo I have shows about 264k, so that jives nicely. The car can be re-imported into the United States as it's 25+ years old. Please PM or email (preferred) if you have any interest. I won't respond to comments on this thread. It's the car in the foreground, in the pic below. Some underside pics that I snapped a few weeks ago will be attached in a day or two. Photos of the topside will happen when the car gets out of the shop. Thanks.
