Wink FS: 2000 Jaguar XJR (Has Mercedes 722.6 Transmission from factory)

Back when I was a full time dealer I sold this XJR to a good friend of mine who is a Mercedes & BMW certified mechanic. It had 99,000 miles on it at the time, 2 years later it has 117,000 miles on it. He traded me for an Acura I had, so I get the chance to enjoy the car for a bit sell it again.

The best thing about this car is all the big jobs have been done. In 2006 With 71,000 miles it had the head gaskets replaced due to coolant getting in the combustion chamber. So the heads were machines, gaskets replaced (obviously) and all the timing chain tensioners and water pump/thermostat were replaced as a preventative. This was performed by the Jaguar dealer. Ignition coils were replaced in 2011. Brake pads and a transmission service at 98,000 miles in 2013

In the last few years the car has been well kept up. 4 new tires, valve cover gaskets, spark plugs, coolant hoses, supercharger gaskets, brake lamp stop switch, Bosch reman starter, rebuilt throttle body, and a headliner.

Absolutely no leaks or mechanical issues. All electrical items are working except the keyless entry (not the fob battery) and the power antenna does not fully extend or retract. (Only moves 8 inches or so). Cold air, hot heat, 6 disc changer works, and all that jazz.

Overall in nice cosmetic condition. Clean inside and out. It has a few dings and scratches, but it really presents itself very well. Interior is clean, seats and center arm rest have surface cracking but no tears. The wood is in excellent shape.

I'm looking for a quick sale to get it out of my driveway, bottom dollar is $4500.

Sorry I am not $$$$$ in a position to act on it but just want to say that is an insane amount of motor car for $4500.

My favourite colours too (same as my 300d).

I have a long-standing and never-fulfilled Jaguar lust, mostly for an XJ6 S1 or S3.

Well I wish there were some people out there with money that were interested. This is very unusual for me as I've had zero inquiries in the 2 weeks it's been listed...

Man I love these, though black on black would be my preference. Can't really beat the performance/price ratio and it's almost "why not" cheap. I wish I had a use for it. Glws!

$4000 now. If it doesn't sell at that price in a few weeks I'll just sit on it until January, then tax return starts coming in and it will sell for $5000.

FYI Q4 is the worst time of year to try and sell a car.

I had a 2000 XJR and, although these still have the infamous Nikasil engines, mine was going strong at over 230K miles when I finally sold it to a friend of mine down in Florida who is still wheeling it daily. I did the chains and tensioners and overhauled the entire suspension and enjoyed the hell out of that car for a couple years--still has THE most comfortable seats of any car I've ever owned--period. Tyler, if you'd take a W124 E420 or a W126 420SEL in trade, I'd think about the Jaguar as I wouldn't mind another.

Finally had a craigslist lowballer at least!!! 2 a.m. text saying "Will you take 3k cash"? Replied I was already an idiot selling it for $4000.

I remember having a full inventory of cars in October 2013 (15 or so) and only selling 1 car. So glad I'm not dependent on the car business for income anymore.

Goal is to reduce fleet size, dramatically.

Currently 3 Mercedes and a Jaguar XJS in the garage. A fiat, XJR, and Truck outside. SL320 40th anniversary at mechanics. Mercury Grand Marquis at a friend's car lot.... AND 2 W123s in Florida.

Still not even a blip. Unbelievable. I'd say $3500, but at this point I don't think $500 create any interest either.

I've got 4 european cars for sale at this price point right now and I'm getting nothing either. But I'm not telling you anything you don't already know.

I'd love to have it, but 19 cars in the garage is too many!

I've always wanted one of these, been foiled in my few attempts to buy them so far, maybe its the universe saving me from myself.

Good luck with the sale, or maybe we will just all be sitting on our mountains of gold come tax season!
