Arrow 1975 W116 280S in San Francisco

It pains me, but I am looking to sell my beloved "Audrey".

She is a beautiful garage-kept 1975 280S (W116) and been with me for a couple of years. We had a ton of good times, but having struggled to fix idle problems the Solex carb myself, I think she is better off in other hands. This way I can fit a daily driver in the garage and she can go to a more knowledgeable home.

I have every interest to sell her to someone who appreciates her, even if that means a bargain for someone else - I'll give the accurate description and you can come check her out as well.

Ask me anything. Asking $3000 and you will need to "bring a trailer". Here are the details.
  • Great condition outside and interior. Second paint is on topaz brown and shines throughout with very few imperfections. Interior is MBTex and I assume has been refurbished because everything is pristine, no rips, no cracks, perfect headliner, etc. There was one on BAT until today which wasn't half as nice.
  • Even comes with the original Becker Europa II which is in perfect working condition.
  • The engine is a carbed M110 and has cold&dry compression of 110-115 throughout all six cylinders. Ignitor II (and I kept the old points). Oil pressure always maximum when running.
  • The Solex developed a warp over the years and I attemped to fix things myself with a Weber 38 swap, but never finished. It ran fine, but I had trouble with the hood clearance as the Weber sits an inch higher. You'll have to figure this out - the Weber K248 kit is new ($600) and I'll throw both carbs in.
  • She has an oil leak that was never treated around the fuel pump. It's a really slow drip (couple of drops per week at most) but the engine bay has never been cleaned. This might need some work but I never needed extra oil.
  • Being a California car, she has a bunch of pretty complex (to me) emissions control equipment. As far as I tested, it all works, but you don't have to smog 1975s in California, so nothing to be feared here.
  • I am not certain what happened, but the front bumper has a weld on the underside and I assume there was an impact in the past. The coating around the front left shock strut has a crack as well which would make sense in that scenario. I didn't notice when I bought her, but it is what it is.
  • Tires are great, but she needs alignment and new shocks / suspension down the road. Drives fine, but definitely very soft.
  • I have no idea why the rebadge on the hood. She is definitely an M110 280S.

And I totally forgot, but she is around 120k miles. Registration valid until end of March.
