Thinking of selling my 1990 R129 300SL 5 speed
All, I've owned my 1990 300SL 5 speed for about 2 years but have hardly driven it. I bought it as a project car which it is still to this day. It's metallic blue with cream leather interior and has 136000 miles. The car runs well when cold but has a running issue when warm where it does not want to rev. I initially thought it was the coil which I replaced but I now suspect that it may be the cap and the insulator which I understand to be a problem on the M104.
Up to that point, car runs and drives very well and is a lot of fun. Last time I drove it was 70 miles to my hobby shop where it has been kept in a locked building. Bodywork does not appear to be rusty but will need paint and dings worked out. Seats are torn, dash is OK , I have a set of seats from a 1999 which I will be happy to swap over. Soft top does not go down, the back lifts only. It's a project car with good bones and very rare. It's completely different to drive when compared to my SL320 or my SL500. I would really love to keep it but I have way too many cars right now and my work has gotten so busy that I rarely find time to work on my cars. I'd like to get $5000.00 and thought I would post here before putting it on ebay. PM Me for questions. Thanks

Every post this on eastern bay ? I look at this ad often, thinking its the stick shift SL I always wanted.
I also found a place selling new hydraulic cylinders for these cars...seems like straightforward work. -John

In 20 years as an mb tech, I've only ever seen one of these.
