Up for sale is a 1997 Mercedes E300 Diesel sedan. We have owned this car since 2007 and have maintained it to a very high standard.

All services and maintenance are completely up to date. I encourage you to go test drive other similar E-class sedans before you drive this one- I promise you will not find another that drives as nicely and smoothly as this one does. There are no squeaks, shakes, shimmies, or rattles, not even at 80 mph on the freeway. The A/C is ice cold, the heat is hot, and the climate control system works perfectly. The suspension feels crisp and confidence inspiring. The engine and transmission are smooth and powerful, and there are zero leaks. The engine starts easily in below-freezing winters, and runs and idles silky smooth. This car has been fantastically reliable and I wouldn't hesitate to drive it across the country. We are in Northern Virginia where all cars must pass an annual mechanical inspection and emissions test and this car has never failed.

The body is "well loved" with plenty of small scuffs and scratches, but mostly they're not visible from 10 feet away, so the car remains quite presentable. Some elbow grease with polishing compound and touch up paint would go a long way. There were some minor rust patches that were repaired a few years ago by wire wheel to bare metal, sealing primer, and paint. They're pictured in the photos, mildly unsightly up close, but hardly visible from 10 feet away. Both front spring perches are excellent 100% - a common issue on this model, the passenger side one was replaced a few years ago at the local Mercedes Dealership and yes the dealer receipt is included.

While the car is now 20 years old, all of the usual wear items and consumables have been replaced in the past few years. Please see the list below, and yes included is a thick folder full of receipts for this stuff. Also included is the glovebox owners manual set, radio security code, two regular keys and one remote key, and clean clear Virginia title.

Suspension:
- replaced control arms and bushings
- replaced ball joints
- replaced tie rod ends
- replaced all four shocks, Bilstein HD
- replaced sway bar end links
- four wheel alignment

Engine:
- changed engine oil and filter, Rotella T6 5w40
- changed engine air filter, Mann
- changed engine fuel filter and pre-filter, Mann
- replaced both engine mounts, Lemforder
- replaced both intake manifold control valves & vacuum modules, Genuine Mercedes
- replaced all vacuum hoses w/ silicone
- replaced fuel injector return lines w/ Viton
- replaced all fuel system o-rings w/ Viton
- had all six fuel injectors rebuild using new Fratelli Bosio nozzles
- replaced all 6 glow plugs, Genuine Mercedes
- replaced valve cover gaskets, Rein
- cleaned (hot tanked) intake manifold, both sections
- resealed fuel injection pump, shutoff valve, w/ Viton o-rings
- replaced serpentine belt & belt tensioner
- replaced chain tensioner, Genuine Mercedes
- replaced cylinder head temp sensor, Beru

Cooling system:
- replaced upper and lower radiator hoses
- replaced water pump housing, Genuine Mercedes
- replaced water pump (geba, w/ metal impeller)
- replaced radiator fan clutch & upgraded to 11 blade fan, Genuine Mercedes
- replaced thermostat
- changed engine coolant, 50/50 mix of Genuine Mercedes coolant and distilled water

Transmission:
- replaced conductor plate, Genuine Mercedes
- replaced connector socket, Genuine Mercedes
- fluid & filter service; Fuchs Titan 3353, Mann
- replaced both drive shaft flex discs, Lemforder

Brakes:
- changed brake fluid, ATE G200
- replaced brake caliper hoses, ATE
- replaced all four brake rotors and pads

Body & Misc:
- replaced battery, Genuine Mercedes
- replaced HVAC blower fan, Genuine Mercedes
- replaced both cabin air filters
- replaced both cabin charcoal aux air filters
- replaced K40 relay module, Genuine Mercedes
- replaced fuel door lock solenoid, Genuine Mercedes
- replaced exhaust system, cat back, mandrel
- changed rear differential fluid, Redline 75w90
