FS: 1971 280SE, rebuilt everything, $40k recent receipts, lots of rust

I'm selling the car that someone else put way too much money into. I bought it for the engine, I no longer intend to use the engine so I don't want the car. Drives great, horrible rust. Read the list of replaced things and if you have any interest let me know.

https://losangeles.craigslist.org/sgv/cto/6130760450.html

I have it listed for $7000. I don't expect to get that. Although I do wonder what it costs to rebuild an M130 engine today... and transmission... and injection pump... and ....

having lived in the desert southwest for 10 years after 29 years on the east coast, i know there is "horrible rust [for 'round here]", which was often almost imperceptible to me (compared to what i was used to) , and "horrible rust [as in: run and get a tetanus shot]" which is what was used to.....

Would love to buy the dash wood piece below the windshield if you are interested in parting that piece out.

If you do get into parting this thing out, I'm in for the steering wheel and column. Located in Culver City so could come up to Altadena.

The sedan head is different, but you'll find someone who won't care for a driver.

list this on sl113.org and someone will snap it up for the drivetrain.

Thanks Paul. It is listed on sl113 and there is interest, but it's not local.
