'71 Mercedes 250C For Sale
I have a 1971 250C for sale in Lake Havasu City, AZ. This is a two owner car and has been sitting for some time. I have a clear AZ title and turned in the original Washington State title when I bought the car. I have 9 car projects going and do not fully understand German cars. I spent 35 Years as a Tech in various dealerships. I have spent time in GM dealerships a Rolls Bentley dealer ship and have a learning disability when it comes to these cars.
I don't have to tell you that they are WAY different animals compared to GM, Ford and the like. The car is missing the fuel level sender, the trim at the right lower corner of the rear glass, the seat trim at the seat bottom where the seat folds forward for access to the rear seat, on both seats, missing the left rear stainless piece above the left tail light to the center at the trunk latch and the left front fender trim above the wheel opening and the fender "spear"... I have acquired the throttle linkage that was missing, the A/C compressor and the bracket, which are not yet installed, the coil and fuse box were both missing when I bought the car. I am over my head and just want out from under this project. I have three sets of wheels, one OEM diesel chrome wheels, one set of OEM diesel wheels that are in need of powder coating but have all the center caps and there are 17" five spoke wheels and all three are in need of tires. Two sets hold air but aren't road worthy the 17" are the best set but still need to be replaced. The interior is Tobacco and the paint is a cream or light beige with a light brown or gray top. There is no rust to speak of and the engine has good compression 150-160 on all six. It is the 2.8L single overhead cam with two zenith carbs and dual exhaust and it sports a brand new muffler. There are no leaks from the trans, rear end or the engine. The cooling system is dry but does hold water and does not leak. This car is a 63,000 mile two owner car. The original owner had a son or relative that thought they could rebuild the carbs. They pulled the carbs and the manifolds and found they were in over their head. I bought the car and figured I would make it my Hot Rod Benz... Unfortunately, I am so not going to be able to finish this one. I have a Clymer's manual which is less than helpful in working with the wiring and such. It has the owners manuals which are not mint in any way but the stuff is all there in the plastic bag. The car is currently in my shop with several other cars that take precedent and therefore this one has to go. I am asking $1500.00 or best reasonable offer. I have more than that in it, so my loss is your gain. Last edited by dmkberger; 07-20-2017 at 09:14 PM. Reason: Trying to add pictures... |
