1978 Mercedes Benz 300D
First Gen W123 Chassis (1977 - 1979) toting the bulletproof OM617 engine (non-turbo model)

PROS:

- 201k Miles (These engines known to last 500k or more)
- OM617 5 Cylinder (The REAL Million Mile Engine, check the Genneis Book of World Records)
- Rebuilt Bosch injector pump by Seattle Injector, 5k miles ago.
- Injectors cleaned and tested as good, also 5k miles ago, also at Seattle Injector
- New fuel filters, Primary and Secondary, 50 miles ago(OEM euro filters, NOT O'Reilly's crap)
- Diesel Purge 50 miles ago
- UPGRADED and rewired as a series, to brand new pencil style Monarch glow plugs
- All signals and lights work.
- Good working stereo and speakers
- Heater fully functional, along with all buttons, fan speeds, & vacuum pods in climate control system
- No vacuum leaks in climate control system, engine, or transmission.
- 3 of 4 power windows work
- Transmission shifts great, does NOT clunk or slip.
- Kickdown switch works
- Shift points are correct
- 23 MPG (Everyone on here will tell u 25 or 30 mpg but this NOT TRUE I've owned many of these cars and the average MPG is 23)
- Diesel
- Paint is still glossy! (Unlike most W123's of this age)

CONS:

- Front right passenger window regulator needs service and lube or replace. (Window is up and doesn't leak)
- Sun roof stuck closed.
- Climate control servo inoperable (bypassed and heat still works great, as stated above)
- AC pump disconnected, most likely doesn't work. (Possibly could just be freon recharge and an easy jump & bypass the switch/relay fix.)
- Body has some scratches (mostly hood and roof) and imperfections.
- Hood and trunk open but will not stay up on there own. (hold up with 2 by 4 or jimmy rig it up with the original hood & trunk mounts)
- Seats are ripped, torn, and wore out ($30 seat covers fixes this)
- Carpets are ripped, torn, and wore out (A full carpet and seats are $200 tops from any parts car)
- Small vacuum leak with two right side automatic door locks, still lock manually just fine. (New rubber connections should fix)
- Antenna is stuck in up position (at least it's not stuck down!)
