Thought if I posted a new ad and title it might generate some interest and i thought i would start fresh with a new post.

Here is the deal:
Bought the car and the engine was worn so I swapped it with a lower mileage 300d engine and trans. Here is what is great too. The donor car had a newer remanufactured trans from MB so I swapped the whole donor drivetrain over in one piece.

The engine runs great, it has one or two glow plugs that need to be replaced. It does smoke some like any old diesel and leaks some oil too. The transmission shifts perfect and engages all gears perfect.

The car has rust, nothing crazy. You can drive it for a few years and get around that is what i was going to do. Almost everything works including the sunroof. The car is a beater, but still gets compliments from people. I also drive it daily as is for the moment.

I don't plan on going to grave detail about the car, but for 1000 you can't beat a running and driving car. 320k chassis 188k drivetrain with newer trans

Want a 1000 but i am slightly negotiable. If you low ball me, your wasting your time.

i'm telling you, more vehicle history reports, drop the price to $500 and add a lifetime warranty

Ha! I'm really debating at the idea of it! Who would think it's this hard with a running and driving daily?

All I'm getting is tire kickers and a lot of interest and "hey, I'll buy it next week at 6pm" but no actual bites. I think I just may put a monster lift on the suspension and big tires and run it at monster jam and have the oddest mercedes like that 300sd with a lift and 37s on google

I have two people coming to look at it this weekend. If it doesn't sell I'm taking my sawzall to the front end and ripping the engine trans out again and putting it on ebay and using it for parts for another w124 im buying and saving some stuff and its going to the crusher in two weeks.

Someone is pretty sure they're going to buy it tomorrow.

If it doesn't, I'm going to start cutting it up and ripping it apart. If anyone wants a good drivetrain on here, this is the last time I'm posting in either thread. I think this forum is more based towards the 617 diesels, i recall about 3 members with w124 diesels. So I'll be on ebay next week.

I haven't been able to confirm whether my 1990 has an engine issue, as I have been out of the country, or I would probably be jumping on this. Well, that and being on the other side of the country...

I haven't had time to cut it up yet as I'm working on straightening out my crashed E300. So there's still time to buy this car. I like driving it.

Sold for full price. The guy is going to put a stack thru the hood and put some AMG wheels on it and daily it. First thing he told me is he's taking the alda off so it rolls coal lol
