I need to sell my 85 300D. Anthracite/palomino. 280,000 miles.
I purchased in 2010 with 264,000. Daughter was driving it, but now I don't need it anymore. I have 1 too many cars!

I may be able to deliver the car to San Antonio, Austin or Dallas. Yes, I am in Houston, but my street never had more than 3 inches of water in it. Asking $900 OBO.

The Good:

  • engine mounts replaced
  • both engine shocks replaced
  • rebuilt turbocharger (new bearing section and M*********rce rebuild kit)
  • oil pan gasket replaced, leak repaired
  • turbo drain pipe leak repaired (new O-rings)
  • fuel injectors rebuilt (Monark parts), pop tested/balanced

  • all fuel return hoses replaced with correct hoses

  • engine/transmission strong
  • transmission fluid, filter and pan gasket replaced

  • driver door master vacuum valve replaced
  • carpets replaced throughout the car
  • all 4 wheels on the ground refinished using the M*********rce kit
  • electrical switch on back of ignition cylinder replaced
  • supplimental brake light sockets/bulbs installed
  • programmable wiper delay replacement installed
  • sunroof lubrication service performed
  • black dashboard cover (short-pile carpet)
  • driver's window mechanism functions correctly
  • replaced badly bent driver's door

The Bad:
  • paint (just look)
  • both front ball joints bad
  • passenger side floor rusted/repaired with MagicPaint/fiberglass
  • front tire wearing on outside edge
  • steering wheel shaking above 52 MPH
  • no A/C. Parts are present, but doesn't function
  • water intrusion around battery tray, even though area has been
  • cleaned/treated
  • wood trim in sad shape
  • previous owner backed into something with right rear corner of car
  • clear coat gone everywhere
  • in the middle of a project to close all body moulding mounting holes
  • Texas state inspection (safety only) expired at end of July 2017. Will not pass at the moment because of worn front tire.
  • sunroof needs new seals
  • both rear windows go up/down with switch, but sometimes have clicking problems

Pictures looks good. But the car is bit old already passed 2,80,000 miles.

I'm interested in those rain shield visors on the two front doors! Where did you find/get them? I'd love to have some on my 300TD. Let me know, please, either here (I'm sure lots of others want to know too) or a PM.
Thanks in advance, and good luck with the sale of your car. If closer, I'd be seriously tempted.

Thanks, I forgot to mention those...they are standard-issue WeatherTech parts. Just went to their website and ordered them. Came in a nicely packaged box (they are awkward to ship). Very well made and just slide into the window channels. I have enjoyed them, especially with no A/C on rainy days.

I just went to their site to order, but it was $75.00 for purchase and shipping, then they wanted another $5.95 for shipping and damage insurance! Guess I'm too much of a cheapskate - cancelled the order. Have to mull that one over a bit.

Thanks for the reply, though. Maybe i'll spring for them eventually, but not yet.

Bob

The car is still here and for sale. Last week I had another member of this forum from the area show some interest and he came and drove the car. He thought it is a good deal but he has 1 too many cars also.

I don't think that I mentioned that I have all of the waistline body trim and that all comes with the car.

How about $600 for this car?

This car is still for sale; I will lower the asking price to $600.

The only thing that keeps me from using it as a daily driver is the lack of A/C.
