1980 Mercedes-Benz 300TD for sale
My 1980 Mercedes-Benz 300TD is up for auction on bringatrailer.com at no reserve.
I’m a private seller and the clean CA title is in my name. The car is located in Culver City, CA. Paint Code: 473 Champagne Metallic Interior Code: 134 Palamino MB Tex 5-Cylinder Diesel normally aspirated 4-Speed Automatic Transmission Power Steering Climate Control Cruise Control Central Locking System Self Leveling Suspension Bundt Aluminium Wheels Sliding Sun Roof (manual) total 242740 miles (and counting) 95,857 miles on the current engine (original engine replaced at 146883 miles) 83871 miles on current transmission (original transmission replaced at 158869 miles) Original owner took delivery through the MBZ European Delivery Program - at the factory n Germany on 2/01/1980. All Documents and supporting paperwork included (please see pics). Original List Price was: $ 25,775 in February 1980. Car is US-version! Folder of repair and maintenance receipts 2017-1980 with $ 56,132.18 spent (all documented) During my ownership (since 2/2014) $ 8968.63 spent on repairs, maintenance and upgrades. Despite changing owner, the wagon was serviced at the same independent MBZ specialist since 2002. I did some repairs and upgrades myself - receipts for parts included. Personalized California Blue Licence Plate (by original owner) can remain on the car if a California buyer wins auction. If buyer is from out of state plate will not be included. Daily driven / freeway commuter Always non-smokers car Transmission shifts well, but is a little tired from 2nd to 3rd gear. Cruise control works perfectly Driver seat was replaced in 1/2017 with a NOS (New Original Stock) Passenger seat that was converted to the Driver Seat. Passenger seat and rear bench are still in good condition. Self Leveling Suspension SLS works perfectly and front shocks in good condition. Brakes are good. Front calipers were replaced by previous owner. a/c blows cold to bridge the tricky early climate control system, I de-activated the servo by instilling a manual shut off valve for the hot water supply to the heater core, which can be turned on/off from the passenger foot well. This Climate Control Servo Bypass Conversion Kit can easily be removed and the system put back to original. Pioneer Bluetooth Radio with hands-free phone kit (I do not have the original radio). Original Bundt wheels restored with original Mercedes Benz valves and early metal center caps (wheels and caps powder coated). Original, complete tool kit Center console and shift know were converted to Zebrano wood versions sourced from a coupe. The original black plastic center console and gear knob are included in the sale. Electric power antenna converted to manual use (motor defect) Customer luggage barrier power coated to match interior can easily be removed. Paint: Only roof is original, is dull and shows patina. Car has been touched/locally repainted several times all around and there are slight paint mismatches. light door dings either side - a few deeper ones on the passenger side front door - some on the tailgate small paint imperfections as pictures Small areas of rust on the lower tailgate edge (see pics) and every minor under 2 of the doors (see pics) chrome is very good shape all round dashboard has small cracks ( I count 11 in total - most of the small - 4 are very noticeable ). small area where dashboard top surface is delaminating (hard to photograph) 2 stone chips on front-screen were professionally repaired.
