82' Volvo 240GLT FOR SALE - PeachParts Mercedes-Benz Forum

Hello all, I have recently acquired a superb example of a 1982 Volvo 240GLT 4 door with 171k. If any of you are familiar with these they are hard to come by! Especially in great condition.

The car was owned by a ASE mechanic for an independent Volvo shop in Ga. He owned it for the past 3 years. He has done many upgrades that make this car one of a kind! Here is the skinny

It is original California white(beige) with tan leather. Paint is very good and body is straight. One small crease on fender.The leather is in very good condition. The driver seat has a bad spot in the seat. Very nice overall though. Carpet is good. A few stains. All power options work flawlessly! Sunroof was converted from the hand crank system to electric power using a kit Volvo sells for these older crank sunroof models. It has a 2 yr old turbo that is an upgrade from the original oil cooled turbo. It is tuned to 12psi vs. the standard 8psi on the original. VERY FAST! It was also upgraded with the intercooler at that time. A heavy duty radiator was also added. The hoses and belts are new. Timing belt recently changed as well. It is spotless under the hood! It is not sprayed down with Armor-all! Just plain clean!! The transmission was replaced with a 90' 740 16-valve(rare) 4spd auto with lockup torque converter. It shifts perfect! The brakes are new. Tires have about 10k left and are Bridgestone Turanza. The car has NO power steering. The rack went out and he converted it to a manual system. Very tight and good feel! A little hard at low speeds of course. Windows are tinted. Original Volvo microprocessor stereo and tape. Works good. Bought new in Chattanooga and always in Ga. NO RUST! NONE! It has the original window sticker and most books. He is getting me some of the records. At least what he has done. This car would be great for anyone! I would keep it but I bought it to sell to make a little cash while out of work. I also want to hang on to the Benz so this one must go! It will be on Ebay next week!!

The only thing it needs is the A/C converted. The compressor is good but it leaks out quick. He just took the belt off and had not had time to do the conversion. I also think the front rotors are a little warped. The steering wheel shakes some during Hard braking. Very typical of these cars! He recently put new pads on but the rotors are starting to warp. The dash has a few cracks from the wonderful sun. Other than those items I can not think of anything else. If there are a few Volvo fans out there shoot me an email and we can talk! Thanks yall!
