Ky, how do you like your 6.3? I'll bet that's a real neat car to drive. Man, I'd love to drive one of those one day. We'll see.
Thanks
David

6.3

Want-

I love it. It was sunny yesterday here in Seattle and I took it out. Just put in new plugs on Sunday and this was first clear day. I don't beat it, but pushing the petal to the metal and feeling the monster V-8 launch you, is pretty exciting. It's not perfect, but paint and interior (gold/tobacco) are relatively new and the mechanicals are very strong. These are "difficult" cars from the standpoint that it's one huge engine in a W109/W108 body and the newest of these beasts are 32 years old.

Mine is going in for transmission work Monday. Front pump r/r and seals. Radio is at Becker for r/r and clock is being converted to quartz. I'm going to r/r the air suspension valves from Star Motors as I've got new air bags and she settles after 5-7 days of inaction.

Rust is a fact of life with the older Benz and doesn't terrify me to the extent it does some MB owners. There's rust and there's RUST. I've got rust confined to the frame rails (really jack points) and a small part on rocker panels. No floor damage. Rocker panels and frame rails are still available from MB. This gets tackled in teh winter.

Go the M100 event in St. Louis. I'm sure you can find a 6.3 owner who loan you the keys.

Good luck.

That was a difference of opinion from over two years ago. Buyer and seller conflict. Drop it please.

re: dad mechanic

I have to reply to the lady who mentioned that she bought her MB for her father to help her keep running-I hope my kids feel the same way about me when I'm older- and I hope you have many, many years of work left.
