This would have been just about perfect because I've been needing to take a trip to the D/FW area for over a year and a half now. It's been 30 years this month since I was last there. It's ironic, because this trip that I need to take is one of the reasons why I'm trying to find a good car!

Do you see any others out there lost in America?

179K miles but clean, paint looks good. getting hard to find 210 turbos under 180K miles. Would want to look for rust, as Seatle is a very wet place. My '95 E320 wagon came from there and the exhaust needed a complete replacement (holes rusted thru!)

WOW that's disappointing at $3800.. Huge dent in fender, definitely been hit in the rear (non matching bumper) front bumper is misaligned as well as the fender. Look at the gap!! Wheels discolored as well.. I'd try and get that for $2500. All my cars are 17 years old and older and you won't find that kind of damage. just a shame to see.

Very astute of you jaketech, not being a potential buyer I only give these a quick glance... it does show a lousy repair.
I'm surprised it doesn't have a salvage title
I'd not offer anything unless the car was examined on a lift and a Carfax run for sure.

If I give up on finding another perfect W210 and give in to the lure of a W211, this would be the better deal: https://sandiego.craigslist.org/nsd/cto/d/2007-mercedes-e320-diesel/6504197246.html It's a rust free southern car with fewer miles and at a lower price, not to mention it is super local to me. I posted this car on the first page of this thread, I can't believe it's still available. Apparently, I'm not the only one who is scared of Blutecs.

Yeah, that crazy grease car that I posted on the first page is still available.https://orangecounty.craigslist.org/cto/d/1999-mercedes-e300d-turbo/6537794479.html It couldn't be more identical in every way (price, condition, miles, color, etc. etc.) except it's much more local and trades rust issues for grease car issues. Once again, yet another car that is STILL available proving once again that I'm not the only one who is afraid of a grease car. If I remember correctly you are one of the ones who was/is against that grease car too, but I can't help but think that a car with rust issues would be worse. Remember, it is a documented fact that MB's rust prevention measures had almost completely ground to a halt during this time period.

I do seriously appreciate your help, I really do, but I'm resolved to get a good car this time, not one that will become yet another lawn ornament after just 9 months. And I'm very determined to find a car that isn't being sold by a kid and/or car flipper. That D/FW car was perfect. Are there any more of those out there?

Getting desperate, I gave in and just called on the 07 that I just linked above. It's gone, sold for $6,800, $100 less than the 8 year older roughly same miles but 1,500 miles farther away from me W210. Maybe I should've called on it sooner?

Tell me please, are my fears of W211s unfounded?

My word, this thread has me listing over these newer models in a big way.....but then again, if something significant goes awry I’d be spending what, one or two old clapped out W123s on the repair?? Why again (briefly) the 210 over 211? Is it CDI vs. bluetech exclusively?
