Don't get me started.

Back in my single days I learned the following the hard way: "Full figured" means fat. "Voluptuous" means fat. "Busty" means fat. "Top heavy" means fat. "Proportional" means fat. "Medium build" means fat. "Not a model" means fat. "Normal" followed by any other word to describe her build means fat. "Pretty face" means fat. "Pretty/beautiful eyes" means fat. I could go on but you get the picture.

And then EVERYBODY makes you out to be some kind of shallow a-hole because you want a thinner woman. They'd always say: "It's what's on the inside that counts". Yeah well there are thin women out there too who also happen to be "nice on the inside". I always told them: "She could be missing an arm and have a glass eye, I don't care, but I can't stand fat! It's the one thing I won't accept."

My kids have classmates with single moms who use 10-15 year old photographs in their personals, on line profiles, and as their facebook covers.

Now that is a find! How come that doesn't show up on my own search? Oh, I know, it's because I've only been searching for '98 and later cars because the '98 and later cars have the turbo. Pre-98 OM606 W124s and W210s don't have the turbo. I reallly want the turbo.

Now if there's a really nice '96 W210 diesel out there with less than 140,000 miles for less than $6,000 one would think that there is a '98 out there that has similar miles for similar money, correct?

Maybe I should give this '96 some seroius consideration but there is one thing I need to know first: Would this '96 car have the 722.6 or not? Or did the OM606 only get the 722.6 after it got it's turbo? I know the '95 OM606 cars still had the 722.4 with a 2.87 rear diff which makes for some fairly poor fuel economy when doing 80 MPH highway driving (comparatively speaking).

LOL, I don't hate them, I just feel that they are better suited to be with round guys, which I'm not. I do hate how they hide their roundness when they play the personals though.

Seller says it's a 4spd auto. How is that possible? Aren't all W210s equipped with the 722.6?

96 E320 and E300 has the same 722.4 mechanical trans as the 124. 97 started the 722.6

Hey Eric - long time no talk! Still out there racing the 1/4?

I dunno what you're cap for mileage is at, but here are some local listings:

https://stockton.craigslist.org/cto/d/1998-mercedes-e300-turbo/6533014371.html

https://sfbay.craigslist.org/eby/ctd/d/2005-mercedes-benz-class-320/6531858933.html

https://sfbay.craigslist.org/sby/cto/d/1995-mercedes-e300-clean-title/6528677611.html

https://sacramento.craigslist.org/cto/d/2005-e320-mercedes/6517718697.html

(threw a W124 in there for good measure)

Honestly, I'd go for a turbo 606 - the extra ponies are nice. The 5 speed is pretty bulletproof too and definitely makes for better MPGs.

If you find something up here, I can take a peek at it for you!

Hi Justin, thanks for the links! Please keep them coming! I have a feeling that the car of my dreams is up there! And thanks for the offer of checking out potential cars for me! I may have to take you up on it!

No, I haven't been able to hit the drags for a few years now. Life's just too bunk! No time! I also live farther from the track now than I used to. I remain determined to get back into racing in the not too distant future though.

The first car has way too many miles. I'm trying to maintain a 150,000 mile cap. The second car is too black and too expensive. As I've already posted, black cars are just too frickin miserable down here. Plus I don't like dealers. Third car doesn't have a turbo. Too slow. Too hard to hop up. The fourth car seems to be a sweetheart! If I can't get a decent turbo W210 for a fair price that CDI is what I would be getting. That car is yet another example of what I've been raging about. Why spend $7,000 for a 300,000 mile W210 when I can get that sweet CDI with half the miles on it for the exact same price?!? But those W211s scare me. They are so complex! I've read horror stories about how you can't even DIY the brake pads without tripping up the electronic brake system and how it turns into a complete nightmare! I simply refuse to be forced into a situation where I have to depend on mechanics! They're either crooked, incompetent, or both! Once in a while you might find a decent one but they will break you with their outrageous fees!

No, I need to hold out for that nice W210 turbo. As I posted above, if that 96 exists with those low 140,000 miles (and it's even fairly close to me), then there has to be a similar 98-99 out there too with similar miles and in similar condition. I just need help finding it! Another advantage to this generation is that one can swap on one of those older mechanical injection pumps that's been hopped up and make stupid power with it! It's really not too hard to do! It appears to be easier than swapping a OM606 head onto a OM603 is! I've even read about the easy trick to make the 722.6's electronics get along with the mechanical pump!

See! Cars like this do exist! Thank you! He's about a thousand dollars over priced though. As I have posted several times in this thread, $7,000 dollars will buy a really nice W211 diesel, CDI or Bluetec, take your pick. I think the fact that it's still available after more than 2 weeks speaks to that. Maybe he's ready to make a deal! I'm calling tomorrow and if it's still available I'll run a carfax on it! I have business to attend to in the D/FW area. If this checks out and he'll sell it for $6,000, I'll make this work. Thanks again! I'll post an update tomorrow.
