1980 280SE euro

car coming up in the city auction this Sat. The body looks pretty good and it has the euro headlights/bumpers. Any interest - it can probably be picked up pretty cheap - like under $400.
Let me know. Don't know if it runs or not. I plan on going to look at it Friday at noon.

Went down at lunch today and took a look at the selection of cars. The 280SE is showing 147,xxx miles and the interior looks appropriate for the milage. The air cleaner is in the trunk and it looks like someone has probably been struggling with the carb (looks like a good application for a Holly). Oil looked good, tranny fluid smelled ok, everything that I could see looked ok in the oil fill hole and the coolant looked good but was green.
Now, the stuff that was not too attractive. The body seems to sag and something about that right rear wheelwell and suspension area. Seems to be quite a bit of what I call "feathering" of rust in the coating on the outer edges of the body and suspension components in that area. In addition, the place where the spare tire is stored looks like it got hit pretty well.
BUT - I'll bet there are some folks that would probably give $100 for the headlights and front bumper. Very clean lines - this is a euro model.

If its a 280SE, it is fuel injected. E = injection. If it is a 280S then it is carburated.
