16 Valve

Hi Dan my name is Pete Smith and i have an 86 Black Euro 16 Valve and i also have a friend in the market for a car. I was wondering what you were asking for yours. Im sure he would be willing to shell out about 5500 for it because i recently had the same rust problem and that costs about 1600 to have the rust removed and the sides repainted. I love mine and i have had to pay to keep it alive at 207338. I had that work done to the body and most recently had the a headjob that ran 3200. I live just down in Old Lyme and would like to see yours sometime. E-mail me. Thanks
-Pete

hey pete

How is your 16v running? I was reading your post the whole time.It was sad but VERY COOL!!!
I just moved out of Lyme, i lived on beaver brook rd. I'm surprized I never saw the Black 16v bombing around. The people on my road where just about sick of me . haha
About my 16v there was a bmw m5 in bristol a few weeks ago , i really wanted to go get it but i didn't have the 9k for a beat up
M/// . so i put the 16v on the mercedes site . and the M5 is gone to a good home now. oh well
I really love the 16v , but a few weeks ago i put on a new free flow cat for the new sticker on the window, (never got it). It just seems so sluggish now, i didn't run any cats before, i was going to put the gutted one back on soon.
The condition of the car is great mechanically i have worked all the bugs out. but the body is not to good, the paint is pretty rough there are some tiny pebble dents. the brake dust is reaching the rear of the car . everyone tells me to wash it , but i like it ,, it reminds me for a Lemans car covered in brake dust
If you still want to check it out , i have to go to Carriage House next week, maybe we can meet up,
Thanks Pete
Dave

Hell Yes!!

Hey Dave i think Grant gave me your number because i went in there the other day asking a bunch of questions about EVO IIs because my birthday is next thursday and that is all i want. So i tried to make sure the dealer had the right wheels for a 16V because i wasn't about to get a set of C-class wheels that had the wrong offset. So he told me strait up he didn't know much about the wheels and he gave me your phone number! I called you twice but i never got through. Yeah on monday my air filter is supposed to be in so yeah I'll meet you whenever, it takes like 10-15 minutes for me to get over there. I'd love to check out your man. I had the same body problem, rusting around the wheel wells etc... But last September or October my father too it to a great body shop in Branford and they ground all that **** off and man it looks great now the sides below the windows were all repainted and it looks so great, i just need to get the rest of it repainted because its pretty faded on the hood roof and trunk. I have a little rust on the trunk where i has like a 1 inch keyjob and on the trunk corner where the spoiler bolts on the drivers side there is a little bubble of rust. So I would love to get that all taken care of and new paint on the rest of the car. But first thing is first. It Needs New Wheels. I ned to buy new tires and i cannot bring myself to buy another set for those beat up 15" OEMs. So hopefully by the end of the summer I can get some polished EVO IIs with some new tires. Then I the list is down to three. New Paint, New Rocker Panels(rust there too), and tints man. Mine is Black Metallic so the tints add so much to the overall look. Definitly let me know when you are going to head down to the dealer I would love to meet up.
