1987 300SDL - no rust southern car

In very good condition. It was listed in the Macon paper and I went by to take a look at it. The lady has maintained this car very well and you could eat off of the engine compartment. Everything works - a/c, cruise, power seats, etc.. I did see a little seepage from the rear and can only assume it is the leveling system. She is asking a bit much for it - $8k at 26x,xxx miles but you can tell it has been garage kept and she is willing to negotiate. It runs and drives out very well and has been maintained. Very good running example of a very good automibile. I have no interest in the car but can email the phone # if anyone does.

I've never seen an SDL with leveling suspension.

LOL

I may be wrong. I thought it was a leveling suspension. There was some seepage back there (it was not on a lift when I was looking at it) and it was not coming from the differential.

I may sell you mine with ~278K and extensive service records for $6K.

I almost put it on ebay the other night but I just couldn't do it.

There is nothing wrong with it, infact I just spent another $400 on it the other day (injection timing, sunroof cable, misc stuff). I drove it for about 55,000 miles and I want to get into something different.

turbodiesel,

I lost track of the injector timing thread. What's the gist of what you found and how you fixed it?

Thanks,

My car started making a racket after the timing chain was installed. I had a suspision that it had something to do with the noises.

I took it to my mechanic and let him sort it out. Results are the valve timing chain was off by 1 tooth, and my injection timing was off by 3 degrees. It runs like brand new now, not even any lifter noises. It sounds like a 603 should.
