Thanks,
They are currently .jpg. I tried converting to another type and that made the image size bigger. I'll keep playing with it and see.

Try the powerpack suite at http://www.acdsystems.com/English/Products/Downloads/PPSuite.htm ... note that this is a 14.1 MB download, so a fast connection might help.
Hope this helps, Bob
Thanks! I'm downloading a trial version now. It's a little over 10 MB long and will take around 20 minutes [dial up ]. After that I'm hitting the sack and won't be able to see if it works until Thursday. Hopefully it will... I'll post results. Thanks again!

1989 300SE Garnet

Kelly,

I posted some instructions (?) on posting pictures that may help, but didn't do it as a reply to your thread - see post 9/23/02, topic: 89 300SE Garnet by Hilton Smith

UPDATE:

Ruby is at the shop for the following:
o Repaint bumpers and cladding on side of vehicle (replace some chrome trim)
o Possible repaint of hood...not sure yet
o New/used driver & pass. seats (improvement)
o New console
o New console wood
o New console storage box (lid was not shutting properly...this car was equipped with the console storage box because it has the optional pass. air bag)
o Replacement of steering column collar (for some reason, it was not installed when I bought the car)
o Replacement of cruise control stalk (wasn't springing back but does work properly)
o FULL detail (inside & out)
o Brand new Michelin tires (euro style, according to my Michelin rep...80K mile warranty)
o Antenna mast (the old one worked but made a grinding noise)

Work that has been done within the past month:
o Complete brake job including new rotors and calipers (I probably spent way more that I should have)
o A/C conversion (Ruby is now blowing cold air)

I might end up raising the price to recoup some of my costs! I always made sure that when I sell a vehicle, that it's in better shape that when I owned it.

This beauty. is going to be in Cherry condition and as soon as I get Ruby out of the shop, I will be posting some new pictures.

Please excuse any typo's and miss spelled words...I really wanted to give all of you an update quickly...I'm at work right now.

Michael,

You were right!!! The lower body color IS Navarra Red! People in here are so darn smart

All, Ruby is getting a complete paint job...of course the same color! She'll have no more door dings or stone chips. I might sell her...I might not. It will depend on the price. When I get her out of the shop...I'm not hurrying my mechanic or body shop (an independent guy, dedicated to repainting imports), I'll post the new & improved Ruby.

Don't forget, she's getting her rims repainted, an all new console with brand new wood AND the front seats replaced (used seats BUT to My standards)

When I'm done with Ruby, she's going to be in A-1 shape!!!

After all this work, getting the interior and exterior in cosmetically great shape, ice-cold R134a converted a/c, new brakes/rotors all the way around - you'd be crazy to sell this car.

Why get it perfect for someone else to enjoy?

...believe me...I'm seriously thinking about keeping her (under wraps, of course).

We'll see what happens, but I'd REALLY like a pick-up and don't have an abundance of parking!

Yoo-Hoo, Everyone,

Ruby is home, doing well and repainted. The seats are STILL not fixed yet and I'm willing to price it accordingly. If anyone is interested, either E-mail me at kellyandpampepper@yahoo.com or call me at 734.649.2087.

Thanks,
Kelly Pepper

picture file sizes

I didn't see a response to the question about keeping the original file size.
If you want to play around with compression, dpi, resolutions, the beauty of long filenames lets you rename the original jpg, for example
original.jpg
I'd rename
original-100dpi.jpg
or
1984_300SD front left ext_640x480 normal compression 60% size ratio.jpg

Have you considered buying a trailer and towing it behind your 300SE when you have to haul stuff ?
I see pickup truck beds being towed as trailers here in eastern PA.

I like my wagon because it lets me haul some stuff, but for big stuff that would take a big truck, I rent a big truck, then take it back and happily get back into my car.
To me personally, a big pickup truck is not something I'd want to drive daily.
It might be nice to have a pickup like a Silverado SS or the Hemi Dodge, or the new F150(SVT?) around someday.
Maybe someday a Silverado SS will depreciate enough that I buy a nice used one
