WANTED - 1987 300D turbo diesel sedan

Hi all, I recently got rear-ended in my white 1987 300D, and will be shopping for a replacement shortly. I'm looking for another one but I'm really picky. The car must be 110% rust free (pretty much only south/west cars). Strongly prefer having all service records, and must be in very good to excellent condtion cosmetically & mechanically. Would prefer pretty colors (blue, burgundy, etc) over the ubiquitous Smoke Silver, but I'm open to considering anything. Lower miles are better of course, would like under 150k, would consider more if car is mint with good history. Please email as much detail as possible, with as many photos as possible, to rc51@cableone.net and I'll respond as soon as I can. Cars within 1000 miles of Idaho a definite plus!

BTW - I'm keeping the "wreck" as a parts car, I have waaaaay too many goodies on it. Will not be parting it out to sell stuff - sorry!

Regards,

Keep an eye out at www.ajc.com. I see them in there every now and then.
For a small fee I would be willing to check one out in that area if you come accross one you are interested in.

Well, its a little far. but a place in Cincinnati has had one for several months. Its white and I believe only 78,000 miles..of course they are asking a huge premium. I think last price I saw was $12,995 in the local paper..they still show higher price on their web site. You can check it out here:

Ah yes, I saw that one. The price is exorbitant. I ruled it out because it's in the northeast, and is almost guaranteed to have rust underneath. Now if they have full records showing the car lived in the south all its life, then it would be worth a closer look! My current cars are all from CA and have no rust *anywhere*, so I'm kinda spoiled with that. Suspension & chassis bolts come loose with minimal effort - big difference from most northern cars (I grew up in NY).

I hear you...I lived in Rochester for 10 years so I know what really bad rust looks like.
