81-85 300SD or 86-88 560SEL - want to buy
Hello. I am wanting to buy a good running, rust free 1981-1985 (prefer 1984-1985) 300SD or 1986-1988 560SEL. Prefer eastern Tennessee / southwestern Virginia / northwest North Carolina area. Will pay cash, or will consider trade. Thanks.

there is a dealer in kingsport tenn named benz-haus...
he has a website too www.benzhaus.com try emailing the owner and express your intrests to him his name is Jaco Vandemewere and he is a hell of a guy and friend.. tell him Dr stumm and his brother jeff sent you and I am sure he can search the auctions and his contacts for the vehicle My brother has purchased 4 cars thru him and I have purchased one too using the above methods.. he really goes out of his way and stands behind ehat he sells and also has a full service dept. Thanks for the information McDiesel. I am familiar with that dealer and have visited their website several times before. I have even recommended them to others here looking for a Mercedes in the Tennessee area. I have also heard that they have an excellent service department. I had actually even planned on taking a 1983 300SD that I was considering buying last year to them and have it inspected. I have also driven by there many times over the years, as I am in Bristol, TN, which is only about 20 miles from Kingsport, TN and occasionally have to go to Kingsport. The closest way to Kingsport from Bristol is HWY. 11W, which is the highway that they are located on. I e-mailed them a couple of years ago and in the reply I was told that they do not deal in older Mercedes and if I wanted a "lower priced, older" Mercedes that I should go to a junk yard. I was assuming that they also sold older Mercedes- or some of the higher mile trade-ins. I do not think all of the old Mercedes are junk and think a nice one can be bought for less than $4000-5000. Also, I would be using it as a work car and there are a lot of cars in the parking lot at work. I do not want to buy a new car, or extremely nice Mercedes, just to get door dings. I actually like the styling better on the older 1980s Mercedes cars, better than the 90s to 2003s. I have contacted a salesman at the local Mercedes dealership in Kingsport and they have some older Mercedes that I may be interested in. Thanks again for the replies.

I have a grey 1985 300SD, palomino leather with 120Kmiles in excellent condition. Has no rust, CD changer. Everyhing works except pass window. Diver's seat spring sags and has a holw at lower seat back left. I will put in a new radiator this weekend. I am the third owner. What is your bid?

Thanks, but I live in Tennessee and Conneticut would be way to far for me to have it shipped. Probably $1000.+ just for that. The car would have to be priced pretty cheap. I would like to find something more local in the North Carolina, Tennessee, or Virginia area. Thanks again however.
