My '78 450sl for sale. $2750 or best offer. It is the best W107 model with the 4.5 liter iron block versus aluminum on later model. Dual timing belt . And it is a convertible with the matching hard top.

For the unfortunate news, the driver side chain ramp broke and caused the timing to go off, resulting bent valves on that side. I don't have the money to do a proper valve job, so I am letting the car go. The car has 234K. Basically, I am selling as a roller with complete drive train and engine. I would part the car out for more money, but I don't have the time. The car has never been in accident. All number matched. The body is excellent shape with minor cosmetic, ie, paint chip and scratches.

Are any pictures available? I'm not sure if canary yellow is a pale yellow or a bold yellow.

Also, what color is the interior? Leather or MBTex?

I've been looking for a 450SL to put a 617 turbo into. Just my luck, I just bought another 300SD on Saturday. Will have to finish with this project before buying another.

To post pictures, go to the the "Attach File" option on the bottom of the reply window. Choose the file, and upload it onto the server. If they are too big though, it won't let you upload them. You will need a program like photoshop to shrink them down. If you are having problems, you could email them to me, and I will resize them and post them on the site.
