For Sale - 1981 300SD 163k miles
I have a 1981 300SD with 163K miles for sale. The car is in good shape but has a little rust. Everything works on the car. It is a daily driver but I need to make some room in the garage. The car needs nothing right now but the the transmission does flare once in a while when going from 3rd to 4th gear. Recent repairs made were, front brakes, front left and right rear calipers, engine mounts, Tach sending unit, cruise control, heater monovalve, drivers seat spring, muffler, and a few other small things. I average about 27 mpg. Documents include, owners manual with maintenance records up to 99k miles, Service manual on a CD, a couple of other tune up manuals.

How's the interior and woodwork? Is it leather? Also, where is the rust, and how bad is it? Do you know any more history of the car? Also, where is Endicott?" The wood work is in good shape. The leather seats are good also, but the drivers seat is a little worn but no rips. The rust is on the rocker panels and on the front left fender. From what I have been told... The car was originally sold in Wichita, Kansas on 4/1981. In late 1982 the car was inherited by the owners son who lived in Endicott, NY. He had it until he traded it in to a dealer in 2001 when I bought it. The records show it was factory serviced for the first 90k miles. I have had it a little over 2 years and put about 12k miles on it. That sounds low but I have 3 other cars to drive. Endicott is just above the PA border and 60 miles south of Syracuse. Color is black on black? Sorry, eyes aren't as good as they used to be, hehe.

Yes, the color is Black on Black.
I live about 4 miles from Neil's shop. I have been there several times. He is putting a big addition on the back of the shop, looks like it will more than double the size. I'll try to give to a call on Monday.

If you were closer to Tennessee and I had my 1998 Taurus sold, I would buy it, if the floors and trunk are rust free.

The biggest town close to Endicott is Binghamton, NY. which is about 15 miles east. We are about a 200 miles from NYC. Also, I do still have the car.

Hello, Very interersted in your 81300sd. im in ohio and can offer you 2000 now or a little more in 2 weeks. Up to you. id like to come and see the car when you have time. Im off sundays, i currently have a 83 300d if you like to trade and take a little off your asking price. How bad is the tranny? i replaced mine at 150K and it was a 2000 job.
