I am selling a 1982 Gold ext/ tan interior MB 300D turbo diesel. It has 228,000 miles on it. I bought it just to get me to and from school but it's just not my cup of tea. I am looking for a 80-90's VW diesel..
Good stuff:
r-12 a/c and heat work great
front right ands both rear windows work
sunroof works
small (quarter sized rust bubble above rear fender)
I have searched all over this car meticulously for rust and have found none other than this small spot.
Behr radiator
turbo spins freely by hand and spools up nicely when running
climate control fully operational
engine starts without glow plugs
no bad smoke
has great power and trans shifts through all gears (thanx trans-x)
Body is real straight a few hail dings on roof
seats are nice
tires are 60-75%
matching spare with stock MB wheel in trunk
first aid kit all there
drives 90mph smoothly
no suspension noises of any kind
27-30 MPG AVG city
original becker radio included
Known Problems:

tach doesnt work
clock was working but now it isnt
needs complete window motor for driver's side window
needs the rotors turned (good pressure just wobbles)
carpet is dirty and ugly
fading paint on hood and sunroof is completely aluminum in color
until warm, 4th gear surges when shifting from 3rd to 4th
dash has a crack right in the middle
needs a good cleaning and the vaccum lines should all be replaced since it runs for around 3 seconds after killing the key
the canister in the air filter housing which collects the oil from the PCV valve leaks
needs glow plugs and new fuel filter I'm sure
All in all it's a nice old car that needs someone who knows enough about these cars to really take care of them. This is my first mercedes and I mainly purchased it to get me around.
