WTB- ' 90 -' 91 SEL W126

Hi All!

Subject states the meat...
Here's the potatoes..

I'm a little picky, (and long winded) so please bear with me..

Preferably Under 100K
Sunbelt/Florida car (no salt/rust/begining signs of corrosion)
I know there are lots of them out there...
Complete Service Records...... a MUST! (to include the scheduled service actually being done)
I'd really like black on black or silver, but will consider others, except white exterior, and no burgundy or 'saddle' interiors.
I'm not totaly stuck one way or the other on the engine displacement. I've read a lot here, and I'm not sure I can rule any engine out, but I like the 560 (we can let the other stipulations help decide)

Going with the miles I'm looking for, the car should be in overall good condition (no door dings/wrecks/above normal paint chips....leather not torn/excessively worn)
Engine, quiet/properly running, obviously not putting up a smokescreen for Pattons Division.

I want this car to drive it, enjoy it, and be proud of it... not sit under a car cover in the garage.
I kick myself for not importing my 280CE back to the States...(no $ to do it at the time).....
I loved that car, as I'm sure I'll love this one.
I know I'm being pretty picky, but I'll probably own this car till I die....(I'm only 39)

I'm anxious, but not in a hurry.
(joking aside, I am serious about this, and plan to travel from Ohio to look at any proposals..so my aim is true)
I will be paying CASH for this vehicle.
(price paid will fit the condition)

Price/location
Pictures (detailed photos--not shots from across a parking lot like some eBayers) will be an eventual must, before I go anywhere.

Do you have one, or know where one is?
Please let me know......
I'd really appreciate your response!

Thanks in advance,

Chris

Mike McDonald just curious. Where is this car, and about what are you looking to get for it.

Hi Mike,
Thanks for responding.
Car sounds perfect!
I'd sure like to see a picture or two.

Wish it was a little closer to home, but we can make something happen...

Please check your 'private messages' for more info.

Talking Found one!!

I'd like to thank everyone who responded in my search for an SEL.

I'm now the proud owner of an '89 560!

Thanks to KOTT, the second (and a half) owner!

We worked out the deal, and he met me more than half way to complete it! (and braved the 10 degree cold)

Just wanted to publicly thank you KOTT!

I've been searching for a long time, and now I can finally apply some of the vast knowledge I've absorbed from this Forum.

I wouldn't be half as comfortable buying this vehicle if it weren't for the people here sharing their talents and experiences.

Also I'd like to thank one of the Moderators, "Aaron" aka Aaron Greenberg of MB Classic in Cincinnatti (West Chester) Oh.
He spent a lot of time with me on the phone, helping me decide on what model/year/series of vehicle to purchase, that I would be able to handle under the hood, and with my bank account.
He saved me from buying a car that could (probably would) have been out of my league, in both respects.

As anyone reading this knows, this truely is an awesome place!

Here's Kott saying goodbye...(identity hidden) and Forum member Firewalker (who loves to be on the internet) in the passenger seat. (he gave me the ride down to Louisville)
Thanks to him too!!!

Congrats and I hope she provides you with many, many years of pleasure!

BTW: Give us a lowdown of the details. Color combo, miles, options etc.

Well, it's Black, grey-heated interior (perfect), all options except a rear shade (if it was an option in '89), 93K (Florida/Georgia miles)

It looks/drives like a brand new car!

Only issues are some door dents, (I know a good 'Dent-Wizard')and climate control issues, that I'll be reading up on, and possibly posting questions on in the near future if I can't find an answer.

The only thing I want to do to it is find some Euro Headlights that I can afford. I think they really make a difference

The weather here is $hitty, so I haven't been able to take any good pictures, in good light, but here's one of her after her first bath (at work)..
