'85 380SL Value...contemplating purchase
My friend is thinking about buying an '85 380SL from one of my clients. She bought the car new from Stevenson Motors. The car is lapis blue with grey leather, 175K miles, BBS wheels, Nardi steering wheel. She has full service records. The car basically needs tires and a good long trip with FI cleaner. It has a new top and the hydraulic lift for the hardtop. It even has the leather kiddie seat with belts.
We have checked all the book values but they don't seem to relate in any way to what the cars are listing for here in DFW. She is asking $5500 which I think is REALLY reasonable even considering the mileage. We're going to look at it tomorrow... I'm looking for opinions on that price. My friend thinks it's too much...I say the car is worth $8-9K considering it's one owner and the records are up on it. I appreciate ANY input!!!!!!!

I'd say buy it if the car has been regularly serviced and looks good.
