1977 230 sedan for sale
Hey guys,
Have a cheapo for sale through the shop. It's a '77 230 sedan, W123 chassis. Belonged to a customer. Had a tranny put in by the local dealer some years back. Body fair, interior overall good. The exterior is a grey/beige with navy MB-Tex inside. M115 four banger does run but here is what I found the car needs (which is why she wants to sell and find something newer)... -Has exhaust leak -Needs choke housing for carburettor (Stromberg 175 CD) -Needs brake flex hoses -Needs thermostat Here's what we did to it at my shop just recently.... -Oil and filter change -Brake fluid change -Valve adjustment -New spark plugs -New breather elbow I checked out the carb because the car was running poorly (no noises from engine, this is carb-related). Found choke housing to be faulty. If you don't want to put a new thermostatic choke on the car, you can put a manual choke on it (a kit is available in a Triumph/MG catalog I have) for $70. The body is fair, the worst spot being the front of the driver's side rocker panel. Floors and other sheetmetal is not bad. It's a good fixer-upper or winter beater. The price is $500. E-mail me at benzpower@aol.com for pics.
