FS: '74 W115 240D 4spd Manual

With need for more utility (family on the way and growing house projects), I must regretfully sell my beloved 'Ole Green.

Yes, you read the title right, it IS a rare, 4spd manual tranny which is a night and day difference in power for this car (easily as speedy at a 300D of the same vintage and MUCH better up hills than the auto 240D). 106kmi on the clock with likely 108-110kmi actual miles per the previous owner who had the odometer repaired. Most records (including original service booklet with just about every service stamped). 3 owner car. Manual AirConditioning/Dual-zone Climate Control, Sunroof, manual windows and locks. Dark Green (TiefGrun) on Bamboo MB-Tex interior

Thinking I'd keep this thing till the wheels fell off, I've put considerable effort in making it mechanically like-new over the last year. Recent major work includes new master cylinder and brake pads, new vacuum pump, many new parts in the A/C system (altough a pesky leak somewhere has drained the freeon again), new windshield, and new Bilsteins on all four corners (rides very nice). A couple of old fuel lines have been replaced and I've had the tank drained and the fuel screen cleaned as well. Currently getting 24-25mpg on the 24 mi round-trip daily commute I do - it should do much better if driven more. Having been a Southern California then a Pacific Northwest car, it has never seen salt and has been garaged nearly all of its life (currently under a carport) - the body is in excellent, rust-free condition (a rarity with W115's). The only thing it needs currently is a valve adjust, otherwise it is really a solid, smooth runner (and I've owned a few MB Diesel's over the years for comparison).

It is really a sweet little car that I regret selling, and considering its cosmetic and mechincal condition, I want no less than high book value ($4k). I'm offering first shot to the mercedesshop members because I'd love to see him go to a good home, otherwise he'll go up on eBay.

I can email pictures on request, unless someone wouldn't mind hosting a couple for me.

Regards,
- Ryan

edited to reflect that the car is currently under a carport and not in a garage like I previously indicated. Also, I'm firm on the price.
