Pricing advice needed--Euro w126 280se 4spd
I have a Euro 1980 280se (w126) with the very rare 4 speed manual transmission. As much as I don't want to, I am thinking about selling it soon. I've never sold a Euro Mercedes, especially a 'rare' euro Mercedes such as this one, so I need some advice on how much this car may be worth.
Here's a little info about the car: The car is White with Cream colored leather interior. It has 203,xxx miles. The car runs very well. It doesn't leak anything, it idles correctly, it doesn't 'stumble' or 'miss' while running, nor does it smoke. The tranny shifts well, the car doesn't shake, nor does it 'pull' to either side of the road while driving. It has power front windows, and manual rear windows. This car also has the manual style climate control. The interior is clean overall, but the wooden shifter surround is starting to crack, and I can't find another one that's the same as mine. The seats aren't ripped. The body is in overall good shape, a few small spots of rust, nothing major. There's only one noticable ding, and it's on the drivers door directly below the mirror. I have all of the original German manuals/booklets for this car. The service record booklet has been stamped until July of 1997 (139k miles). I also have a few other reciepts that came with the car. Also with this car is the original working Blaupunkt Coburg-Stereo cassette player, with the booklets that came with it. The things that need attention:: The car doesn't have an AC compressor or condenser. I bought the car like this. All the hoses, etc are in place, the car just needs the AC compressor and condenser. The sunroof works when it wants to.... And the windshield has a crack down the middle of it. Other than these few things, this is a pretty nice car. I'm not selling this car YET-- I'm just curious as to how much it's worth and how much I may expect to get out of it when I decide to sell it. If anyone could give me any idea of what my car is worth, please let me know. Thanks |

Couple thousand bucks if you find the right buyer. Start by asking about $4000, but be prepared to sell for less.

Thanks for the help, Gilly.
There's a few things I need to take care of with the car first, but I will most likely advertise it for sale here within the next month or so.... Thanks again |

My aunt had the exact same car. Very quick with the 4 speed. Unfortunately, hers was very rusty and she only got about $1500 for it.
Good luck!
