FS: 94 E420/suburban chicago/$5000

Anthracite/Parchment, just turned 128K. I have had her since 93K (bought 1/01). The previous service records were from Loeber in Chicago, since then the 120 K service has been done at the dealership, and the smaller stuff (brakes/rotors/etc) by my friend who has been a Mercedes Mechanic at Laural Mercedes in Chicago for over 15 years. He also ran through everything before I bought the car.

I am starting a new business, and need an econobox hauling thing (element/scion...) The thought of going from this to that is making me very sad...Anyway, you probably are all aware that a car this "old" with this "many miles" on it is not wanted as a trade...I have been "offered" no more than $3000 for it as a trade in. I think it's worth more than a 1992 Tempo ( or the other cars that seem to be selling for $3000...)

i will have pix soon, as i need to borrow a digital camera, but if you need info, please call. I really hate Ebay, hopefully someone here can buy this, it's a great daily driver.
thanks,
John

What color is Anthracite?

Try contacting a member here named JCE.

His son is looking for a '94-'95 E420...

Wanted to buy: E420

Unless the interior or the paint is in bad condition, your price is too low. I bet you can get over 8k for it.

Are there any problems with the car?

Outside of a small rust spot on the drivers door, it is in solid shape. A fellow who reads the postings here just came by and might buy it: he said the paint and interior were in fine condition.

I don't really know about how to rate these things, I don't hustle cars on ebay. All I know is the local toyota and honda dealers don't want the car, hence the lowball trade-in "offer". Also the fact that I am looking at 2 cars that have really small margains, so they are intending to make the money on the trade instead of the sale.

I really would like to get $8K for it, it would help a lot in deferring the cost of the startup. On what are you basing your $8k figure?
