I am getting ready to purchase a 1993 500E, and would like to get an extended warranty. The car has 58,000 miles. Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions for a reliable company to purchase from?

You may want to try Ultimate Warranty Corporation. They typically offer warranties through exotic car dealerships. Expect to spend about $1800.00 for a 36K mile warranty which covers major mechanical items like the A/C, engine (including most moving components), transmission and driveline.

I currently have their coverage for my 500E however have not had to use them, although I've called them a couple of times to cancel the contract and they always responded on a timely manner and were not rude. Decided it would be best to keep the warranty on the car and transfer it to the new owner which is something you could do as well if you decide to sell the car within the warranty period.

Thanks Afshin, I checked out Ultimate Warranty. Unfortunately, they will not do a warranty for an 11 year old car (1993), only 1994 or newer. I'll keep looking. Does anyone else have any ideas?

I use Heritage Warranty on mine...no problem with the claims
