FS: 1995 E320 Special Edition Sedan

FOR SALE: 1995 Mercedes-Benz E320 Special Edition
PRICE: $11,500 or best offer above $10,000

Body Style: Four-door sedan
Exterior: "Emerald Green Metallic"
Interior: "Parchment"
Odometer: 113,xxx miles

Michelin tires are about 1 year old
Battery is about one year old

I haven't owned this car for long. However, it's been in the family since 1998 (one owner before then). I'm selling because 1) I need the money, 2) it's just not an appropriate car for my daily drive, and 3) we have 3 other vehicles. It has just been professionally detailed, looks very impressive, and runs VERY well. This car will probably last FOREVER.

Other features include the expected:
3.2-liter Inline 6 engine (not V-6)
Rear-wheel drive
Power windows
Power Mirrors
Power Front Seats
Power sunroof
Power antenna
Map light
Telescoping steering wheel
Rear seat fold-down center armrest
Air conditioning in good working order
Dual front airbags
AM/FM/Cassette with 8 speakers (I think)
Pre-wired for CD changer in trunk
Leather interior - only sign of real wear is the driver's seat, which exhibits some cracking
Power door locks (operated by door key)
Stainless steel door "threshholds"
Integrated phone (never used)

Contact me by email at stacey_bowling@yahoo.com with any questions. Car is in Arizona, but has spent most of its life in California and before that Florida.

I'm having a lot of trouble finding any consistent advice in price guides for this car. For private sales prices, I've found everything from $8500 on kbb.com to $10,400 on carsdirect.com to a number of private online classifieds at $12k-$15k-$18k (ok, those last two are ridiculous).

Comments are appreciated, as long as they don't get venomous. I need to sell the car, but I need to get $10k or more out of it. Easy? Hopeless? Somewhere in between?

Thanks in advance. This is an awesome site.

I think $9,000 would be more in-line for a non-diesel sedan.

It seems to me that ebay prices are typically about two-thirds of market price, or three-fourths at best. Any "sight unseen" marketplace for cars is not going to have very high prices. Most cars running through ebay don't come anywhere close to the reserve. It seems to me like it's a marketplace designed for the sale of junk, and that's a lot of what it gets. I don't consider it a accurate indicator of the true market.

Car is still available, and I need to sell soon. I can't sell it for "eBay prices", but the price is certainly very negotiable and I am open to reasonable offers.

Email stacey_bowling@yahoo.com if you have any interest.

Helluva car, especially if your lifestyle includes some freeway miles where you can let the car stretch out and run.

2/3 of price?

Sale of junk? There's junk anywhere you go buy cars, newpaper, trader, car lots, right here in this forum.... Thats why some people sell their cars, b/c they're junk

Good market indicater is any seller's forum, ie ebay, trader, newspaper...

BTW, I just bought a 95 E320 82K miles, one owner, fully documented and dealer serviced, down to Mercedes Benz issued compressed air in the dealer installed tires:p for just $8.9K, so $10K for 100K++???? hmm oh, and bought it on ebay

I would suggest that 82k miles and 113k miles on a '95 MB are in many respects "the same mileage", since we're not talking about a make/model that has a life expectancy of 130k or so. Either way, you're looking at a car with a lot of life left in it!

Sounds like a great car, yoshimura - and it sounds like you got a pretty good deal. What color is it?

Alas, for me personally, I won't be posting any pictures or further price updates, because I sold the car! I miss the engine and suspension already, but I knew that would be the case. Sigh.

Thanks again, folks!
