I'm selling my 92 300D.

285kmi, has one issue that needs attention. Up until about a week or two ago, it ran fine (in fact i drove it on a 1000 mile road trip and it got 35mpg about a month before all this happened).

All of a sudden it started smoking ALOT- black diesel smoke. Never smoked before this. Anyway, i drove it about 2-3 miles and parked it. The problem could be really big, or really small- i have no idea, and i just want to get rid of the car (already bought a new one, so i need the $$).

The car has new front brakes and rotors, radiator, fan clutch and fan, injectors were just rebuilt (maybe 2 months ago), 12 disc CD changer w/ remote, 2 new tires, it had an oil pump, and timing chain (i'm guessing on milage here) 40-50kmi ago, newer rear shocks (fronts seem fine), glow plugs in the fall.... everything else works with the exception of cruise control and i'm not sure if the headlight wipers work b/c i never use them.

The body is in great shape- no rust, but there is a small dent on the back below the trunk lid (barely noticable)- other than that it just has a few door dings. Paint is ok, but could use a detail job (car is black).

Interior- good shape for the age, but again, not perfect- drivers seat has that tear that they all get on the side near the door, and the b-pillar covering is coming off a bit. the arm rest trim is cracking (like they all do), and there are a few cracks on the wood in the center console. that's about it- otherwise the inside is in great shape. I would give the interior a 7.5/10 overall or a 10/10 for its age/ milage.

Drivetrain- never had any problems with anything but the motor- trans shifts fine, though it shifts soft sometimes, but doesn't slip. rear has no known issues either, but i'm not sure if the electonic slip device works anymore.

The car has been well cared for- my father bought it with a few thousand miles from a MB employee in late 92 or early 93, and i bought it from him in 99 when he bought a new one. most of the work on the car has been done by Ramsey Motors where they specialize in Mercedes Benzs.

I've described the car pretty critically- it sounds alot worse than it is, but i don't want anyone being disappointed when they come take a look at it. Give me a call, take a look and make an offer- i gotta get rid of this thing!
